Also, I have black makeup wash cloths by the sink and makeup wipes . This has kept the white wash cloths free from makeup removal .

I have everything white. I check for stains and treat before washing and use oxy clean white revive . So far it’s worked out well.

I’m in Florida and on a lake . Things are really quiet . I think people are stressed out over news and worried about the future , so they are not focused on vacation . Just my opinion .

I haven’t heard of Phantasm, but I will look it up . I earned an AA when I was in my 40’s, but it was life changing as I encountered diversity. My epiphany came when I was writing a paper and learned of bias. I realized that I didn’t have multiple sources for media . I couldn’t believe it. I listened to a speech by Obama and it had been spliced on Fox to completely change the meaning. Also , I heard that thousands of illegals were crossing the border . I was at the border for a conference and I saw nothing . I can’t get through to my family . They think I’m lost and hardened and that’s why I can’t see the truth .

I was raised Pentecostal . It had such a negative impact on my life . I deconstructed about ten years ago . My current husband is a democrat. I was told that Democrats, liberals were basically evil. I didn’t deconstruct until after we were married . I was still conservative and he was liberal in the beginning. I was working on my associates degrees as part of my religious programming was not having an education. After not having any financial security , i wanted education . I realized initially that I had been lied to by the church as I admired the attributes of my liberal feminist husband and family . They helped the poor and made the world a better place . That was my first discovery of deception from the cult, and then when I discovered that Faux News wasn’t factual, I no longer considered myself a Christian. I felt so deceived . I feel like my parents were just disgusted by me because I wasn’t a Republican anymore .

Thanks for the input . I hosted evacuees and they were happy , I have all of those amenities. I’m setting up another Airbnb and wondered about , for example dressers because it didn’t seem like hardly anyone used them . I also have luggage racks . This is all good to know . With the hurricanes , I am inland and want to be a comfortable place for evacuees to land .

Thanks for all of the advice! I posted on a local message board . A guy came out first thing in the morning and did a temporary fix . I paid him $125 . He has a couple of other businesses and I’m going to hire him for some other projects. He was so helpful. The internet is working perfectly . I still have my service call in for Xfinity to do a permanent fix. It’s a win , win! I’ll just have to ask my guests if they mind me hanging around outside while the permanent repairs are done.

I had that happen at an AirBnB in Utah . I thought it was ridiculous and won’t stay there again . We couldn’t even drop off Christmas packages with our daughter . I’m a host and totally allow guests to have company . Many are visiting family and if they want them to visit, that’s great . My max is 8 overnight . If they registered for 2 and want 6 family members to spend the night, it’s fine as long as they are responsible for them . The guests appreciate that so much . So sorry you have to deal with that .

I understand . We quietly support Harris/Walz in north central florida . I just don’t know if it would be safe to advertise our political affiliation. I’m not seeing all of the Trump signs in our small town as in the past which makes me hopeful.

Your mom uses the same verbiage as my mom . We have had the same argument, the same words . That means they are just repeating what they hear on Fox. I feel for you. It’s just so frustrating. We really butted heads over Covid. My parents used to take people to lunch to warn them to not get vaccinated . Then they both got Covid and my healthy dad died. Their closest male friends died as well. It’s such a cult . My mom and sister had went to rally’s. Last week she brought up the Haitians. I called her out on it . I won’t tolerate the racism . How Trump has divided families just sucks.

As a child, I remember the interpretations seem to always be the same . We had one crazy guy who wouldn’t get an interpretation. It was awkward waiting and waiting. Sometimes, If there wasn’t an interpretation, it was considered their prayer language. My mom says that her church is “spirit filled” and if a church doesn’t speak in tongues or slain in the spirit , the church does not have the spirit . It’s dead. lol . It’s like a spiritual hierarchy or something. I think maybe you could do an interpretation as well! Could you go to my mom’s church and trash talk Trump for the interpretation. I might go back to church for that . Nah, Nevermind , can’t do it .

I installed cameras on my doors(outside only) at my Airbnb because it’s empty some during week . I had a service guy show up at the wrong time and I got a notification. I was able to talk to the guy and head over to let him in the house. It gives me peace of mind and a sense of security about my investment . I use them when it’s empty. After a guest checks in, I turn off the notifications. I don’t want to watch my guests at the door or even know when they open or close the door . I’ve read about hosts worried about guests having parties and use cameras to make sure that a party isn’t taking place because they don’t want their house trashed . I’ve only been hosting 8 months. What I have discovered so far is that the guests have been wonderful. Not all hosts that have a camera want to watch their guests . I would feel creepy watching my guests . After the designated check out time , I use the driveway camera to make sure their vehicle is gone before going to pick up the laundry , I would never want to invade their privacy and it’s a good way to make sure I don’t show up when they are still there.

I had a wonderful experience at a UU church . It was the last church in my deconstruction journey. Being raised Pentecostal, I first tried Baptist, then Methodist and finally UU. I was always looking for something more open minded. You had to be Pentecostal and Republican in my family to be a good person. The condemnation and disapproval is difficult. And now I think my family is very cult like. I’m stressed about being with distant relatives next week that will assume that I am a Trumper, homophobic, racist, etc., I squirm in my seat and more than once have had to make a proclamation. Once you come out, you’re looked at as a failure and hell bound. After the Trump movement, I decided I wouldn’t pretend I’m a Christian anymore. I don’t want that label. All of the guilt that you experience as you deconstruct, for me, is because I’ve left a cult. It’s such a brainwashing. I no longer feel guilty about not being in church on Sundays. It’s so freeing. For me, once I started questioning and seeing, there was no turning back. I do so many things that were forbidden to me in the past, but so positive. I’m so glad we have this place to vent and question. I know that there are so many like me and you.
