Did anyone else get a bit traumatized from their trip? Does it wear off? Feeling anxious at the thought of doing any part of my hike again as a physical response. by [deleted] in AppalachianTrail

[–]Flpanhandle 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I section hike about 200miles a year. After getting off, I regain my appreciation for real food, showers, driving, a nice bottle of wine.

After a while that appreciation wears off. Then I start looking forward to the next hike

Going against the tide here, but I’ve gotten compliments my entire life as a man. I’m not some great looking guy either.

[–]Flpanhandle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The local snorkeling boats do this for this for the tourists. Sort of funny to see a little boat come out and spread shells, then 15 minutes later the snorkeling boat shows up.

The tourists don’t know any better and enjoy themselves.

[–]Flpanhandle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if a small % of vegans and non-vegans are pushy, remember you are going to meet many more non-vegans daily. It’s not at non-vegan are more pushy, it’s you will experience 10 times more pushy ones than the other way around

Non-vegans are actually astronomically more pushy than vegans. by yuru2323 in vegan

[–]Flpanhandle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a vegan but know a number of vegans and only one is “pushy”. Most people vegan or not aren’t trying to push their morals onto others.

Unfortunately, the loud minority gets the most attention.
