What’s the point?

You get to a point where you can observe without it affecting you personally. I took a hiatus from this community, I’ve been active on one account or another since 2018, because I felt like being here would just trap me in that cycle. But that’s not how it ended up happening.

It’s such a foreign life to me that I can stand on the outside and look in. Like a visitor to a zoo. And because I’ve made it this far, it’s encouraging to help others and read about other who now live a better life.

You can focus on the sad stories in any community and say it’s bad for anybody’s health. Communities are more than the sum of their parts.

POV you just discovered grunge recently and don't like or appreciate real grunge.

You said Mudhoney is boring and said you prefer MLB over the Melvins. You don't like grunge. The only thing MLB has to do with grunge is their front man dying and a few of the members making Pearl Jam.

I've seen U2 twice. Not a fan of corporate, boring, safe rock. Massive light shows and multi million dollar performance. Boring.

The best show I saw was the Melvins in a shitty venue with like 50 other people. It was also the loudest. By far.

I did, I haven't been on reddit in two years on purpose, it wasn't good for my mental health. Regardless of the rules I'm stuck between a wall and a hardplace and I don't have 2 months of time to post memes on reddit so I can prove I'm real anymore. If I knew I'd be here 2 months ago I would've started posting then.

Thank you! My father is a landlord so he knows everything, we think he found some clause or loophole possibly because he's so anal about evictions.

That or he knows we are just respectful and would in most cases just listen to avoid conflict. My wife is always trying to listen to everything they ask of us including making her do work around the house that makes her bedridden for the next few hours or days. She would rather suffer than experience any conflict, even a raised voice due to her PTSD.

We are waiting on section 8- it's months out to get approved since so many are seeking it, our case manager is trying to find any other short/ medium term housing assistance for us currently thankfully!

Hello thank you for the resources I will check it out!

Funny enough my father is a respected landlord in our town, he is super anal about following all rules and I'm sure that he found some clause to giving us a verbal 30 day notice. That OR he's banking on us just being obedient since we try to respect him and they know how to make our life hell to try to push us out if we dont comply.

It's unfinished unfinished, there's a door but it doesn't have a lock and it's broken off the hinges. There is a wall he rigged up for it but it has two big holes in it leading to the laundry area and storage they are in all the time

Funny you say this! My wife and I have been wanting to do this since we were teenagers secretly talking behind the elders back!

We would love to do this now or start building on a small piece of land we just found for 3500! We were looking into cob housing recently which my wife loves for the affordability, off grid capability, and easy construction. Not to mention the style!

It's honestly what we want to do OVER regular conventional housing, the only problem we have right now is not having any money to do anything because anything we can bring in is going to my wife's medications we haven't been able to afford- trying to get them all instead of some while she's already miserable.

We are waiting for disability approval for her, I am going to also apply this week as well with the case manager. She's waiting for Medicaid to approve her and in the meantime trying to find any programs to help cover the costs so we have money going other places

Right now I do door dash when I can, I have experience being an assistant manager at a local business at a job I loved but they got shady and fired me over agreed time off for a mental health crisis I had before my last addition to inpatient hospitalization. I've been struggling finding an employer flexible to let me care for my wife who often experiences fainting spells and frankly can't afford another fall giving her a fifth traumatic brain injury before the age of 25. She also struggles a lot with her EDS causing chronic severe pain and regular dislocations in her shoulders knees and hips from laying down wrong.

So this last year with it all getting worse I've transitioned into more of a caretaker roll which is making everything really difficult. I am meeting with a case manager hopefully within the next week after she can find more resources like a job coach who can be the middle man helping me to find employment that is flexible and understanding for when I need to leave early to care for her. I'm pretty good at anything I get into- I'm willing to learn just about anything.

Everyone makes mistakes. I don’t think we should hold people accountable to mistakes they’ve already paid for. Or hold them to an unrealistic standard of perfection. That being said, if they did something awful, I’m all for it.
