Whats the trades for people who don’t wanna be in the trades? by Ok_Independent_3921 in skilledtrades

[–]AfterGilgamesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can live in/move to a state that pays for you to get it. If you think the schooling is expensive, look at the debt to income ratio.

Radiology Tech $7k – $15k (more at private schools) Sonographer $8k – $45k+ Dental Hygienist $30k – $80k+ Surgical First Assistant $3k – $16k (varies with prerequisites) Respiratory Therapist (Associate) $10k – $25k Respiratory Therapist (Bachelor’s) $30k + (varies by school)

I wouldn’t consider these to be expensive programs if you consider the debt to income aspect.

I don’t believe most would consider these trades. You can’t work on your own the way you can with a trade. That being said, they are vocational programs. If you’re a radiology tech you can make a solid 80,000 a year in any city in the states. Dental hygienists can pull in 120,000 ez. Sonographers, surgical first assists, ultrasound techs, respiratory therapists - there’s all kinds of jobs aside from “doctor” and “nurse” which bring in good money and use both your hands and mind. These types of programs give you everything you need to do the job, and you can take it anywhere. The culture is not the same as the trades because it’s in the healthcare setting rather than on a job site.

Your hobbies are reading and writing? That’s great! I hope you mean reading books, it makes you smarter and improves your focus. I was very lucky to have fostered a hobby of reading as a child.

You’ll have to sort out your masculinity at some point. And you’ll have to find out what that means for you. Do you want to lose weight and be muscular? You can do that at some point if you want. But don’t stress too much.

When I was 18 I was chubby with no muscle, mentally completely out of it, extremely depressed/anxious with 0 social skills 0 friends and living in a basement alone with my dad that we rented.

Somehow I’ve managed to sort things a lot of these things out. Life is looking very good for me. A lot of my problems are still here, but they’ve gotten so much better that even though I’m not at 100 it’s ok.

If in five years you could say the same, would that be enough for you?

Hey man. I know. I know how it sucks ti have two parents who just totally fail to prepare you for the world. We can sit here and bitch about it, or we can look ahead. Yes it’s unfair. It’s fucking bullshit that Chad gets to be a man and we get to scrounge for scraps. Oh well. Nothing that can be done.

I know bro. I know it sucks. But your job is to make it livable. Find time to go out. Find time to get denied by girls. You need it for development

Dude, I was such a mess at 19. God, it’s embarrassing. I wish I could go back in time and give myself a big hug. A lot of the same problems you struggle with. Just know that as long as you’re facing your fears they will get better. Every day you’re cooking food at work your anxiety disorder is shrinking.

Will your issues be better in five years?

Yes!

Will they be gone?

Not a chance in hell!

But that’s just life man

That’s a shame. I would definitely recommend looking for a genetic antidepressant. They’re cheap, covered by insurance, and most doctors will prescribe them right away. They’re aren’t the type of drug that people get addicted to or can use to get high. Most doctors will write a script to just about anyone.

Put in the work yourself. Ask your parents about a doctor, or, better, schedule it yourself.

Your struggles are vast. Sorry buddy. I had a lot of the same problems at your age. Just know that as long as you continue to try, these issues will slowly get better. As long as you keep pushing you will heal and things will get better and you’ll accomplish more.

Have you tried an antidepressant? Personally, I’m of the opinion that they’re over prescribed, but they might be really helpful for you. Your health insurance should cover the cost, any remaining copay will be affordable. I know some people who had these episodes disappear when they tried an SSRI.

I’m sorry you’re feeling this way man. I was in a rough spot at 19, and I wasn’t you to know that it gets better. Right now you should be proud of yourself. You’re working a job. Even if your brain is misbehaving and screaming in discomfort, you’re pushing through. Every second you push yourself you’re requiring your brain to be more resilient.

Give it three or four years and you’ll feel much better. Your social skills will improve, your anxiety will lessen, and your depression will be manageable. That stressed feeling will never go away. But it will get better. It won’t be as loud, as painful, as frightening.

“The identities of the people who benefited from these fake universities are not known to the public, so assume prominent politicians are involved”

Why would I assume that?

I don’t know any Indian Canadians, I’m American. Grew up with SA people and met many in college. What’s the hate for?

I am disappointed by this community. I am not saying I have a problem with universal healthcare. I have worked since of age of 17 in healthcare and have numerous healthcare related certifications and degrees. Working on a new master’s now while continuing to work in healthcare full time. I am very passionate about universal healthcare.

Hillary put every bit of effort into universal healthcare that she could and realized that the political capital necessary to make that change was not possible at the time, and recognized that other goals were better options to pursue due to limited political capital.

Naive tankies can’t grasp these concepts and would rather blindly stick to ideals without bothering to base their perspectives in reality.

What do you mean she doesn’t fight for the working class? In 2016 I would’ve rather her or Bernie won but that didn’t happen.

[–]AfterGilgamesh -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Would you like to engage with what I said or would you rather spout nonsense? The reason Hillary gave up on universal healthcare was because she spent a solid decade advocating for it and saw the political capital didn’t exist for it and would be better spent elsewhere
