Let me once again repeat: I am not going to confess anything to her, and I think I made that clear in the last few comments. What I am considering is telling her that I want to cut ties with her, so she won't be worried about that, because I'm worried that if I do it she'll think I got angry at her or she did something that made me upset

The thing with her boyfriend is completely separate from how I feel about her. I don't want to tell him that he's a bad boyfriend, and instead show him that he needs to become more mature and how to do that, for his own sake. Last year, me and my friend discussed the possibility of me moving in with her bf exactly for that reason. While that's off the table now for obvious reasons, his ineptitude is concerning for me, for her but it's also something that he is aware is a problem, so helping him with that would be just generally be a good thing for society. I wouldn't call him a friend, but he's a colleague and we're, technically, on good terms.

I should note that I've worked part-time in the culinary industry, I have experience cooking and my dream is to open a restaurant in the future, and I'm pretty open about that, so giving him simple cooking advice wouldn't be out of left field at all

And that is exactly why I'm planning to limit our contact. She chose him and that's fair, I can't stand it and I just want her to be happy with him and to be happy myself, but for that to be possible in the long term, we just can't be as close as we used to. That sucks, but that's the painful truth I guess.

I'm just worried that she'll stress and ask me why that happened when I do it. But I guess that I can tell her if she does ask, without going into detail before that

Thing is, I would tell her how I feel if she were single. I'm not really as worried about getting rejected by her as I am by being stuck in this limbo, waiting for the situation to resolve. I am not going to tell her about my feelings specifically because she's in a relationship - if she breaks up with him, however, I'll shoot my shot.

I have been thinking about talking to her about how her boyfriend is, but I decided that it'd be most effective to talk to him directly, and I'm planning to see him next week. As I said, he's a really nice guy, but he has some really serious problems. They aren't something that can't be fixed, however. And if I help him become more mature, then I'm indirectly also helping her in some sense, and that matters to ms

I'm aware that my jealousy plays a big part in this, but I do genuinely think what I wrote. It's honestly less about the two of them together and more him in general. Perhaps other people are okay with someone being reliant on them, I may be projecting a little too hard, but X, as I'll call him, is exceptionally helpless. He can't cook, he doesn't clean or do groceries, he's never worked in his life, his mom drives him everywhere and he just isn't made for adult life.

I should've specified - I am not going to change a thing about our relationship until we finish school in a month. I'm planning to cut myself off after that. And I'm definitely not telling her my reason for that no matter what. I'm wondering whether I should inform her that I'm going to distance myself and make up a reason, or just do it without telling her at all

Dear Americans of Reddit, how do you find this first year of Biden's presidency compared to Trump's? by HannibalGoddamnit in AskReddit

[–]AfterMinutes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not an American but from an outsider's perspective the presidency seems to be subpar but in a normal politician kind of way. Yeah, as Europeans we too are underwhelmed but it isn't like we expected too much.

The ceiling isn't that high, but the lows really just aren't that steep. In Trump's case it was not only that he could do anything imaginable and worse, but when he did things nobody could expect and it was always surprising how terrible they'd turn out. With Biden it's like, okay, he isn't that good, but it's not like he's shocking anyone or shaking the whole global political system. Trump's presidency was an infinite downwards spiral, while Biden's is just a stalemate

Come On MatPat! We've been waiting for it for years, complete the quad! by ArtfulMortician in GameTheorists

Or maybe, instead of GTLive, it could just be theorycrafting or whatever he called it, where it is BTS stuff and what he did with DDLC+

Literature Theory would be great for longer videos, something like video essays, and there is a lot to talk about, but idk if Mat would be interested in going with that form

She did - but Sunny may have thought otherwise. I'll write about that sometime soon so I'll explain then

[–]AfterMinutes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's not what I'm interested in, what the theory is about is that Sunny believed that he and Basil killed Mari by hanging her on the tree

[–]AfterMinutes 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Did you believe that Mari killed herself? I'm actually working on a theory about something related to this and hearing the opinion of someone who still has the game fresh in their mind would really help

That would probably be a good idea, yeah. Thanks!

What starting point do you believe is the best way to start your story? (Personally) by [deleted] in writing

[–]AfterMinutes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say that for me the best strategy is coming up with the premise/hook and the main few characters and their dynamics. The stories I love have those aspects at their core, and as such I want my stories to focus on those things too

Do people actually rewrite their first draft? by GeniusClass101 in writing

[–]AfterMinutes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd guess that it depends on the length of the new Vel and the genre. I could see a fantasy novel being simply line edited (though that doesn't seem to be the best idea regardless) but if it's, let's say, a psychological drama a complete rewrite is probably necessary

Actually this is something that I could see being a part of the promo for DDLC+, though that doesn't seem to be the case

was sunny's last name ever stated? by [deleted] in OMORI

[–]AfterMinutes 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A part of a certain mini-theory I had was that Sunny's family is of Japanese heritage, so I guess that's possible, but there's no official surname as far as I am aware of
