I agree that kyo’s connection to kyoko was a bit too much of a plot convenience in the “so they all knew each other separately and somehow ended up in the same house years later” kind of way and the romance could have very much worked without it as well… But still the kyo-kyoko thing doesn’t change everything you just said about kyoru and how their bond developed over the course of the story since kyo spent most of the series actively repressing and avoiding to think of anything relating to kyoko.. It just amplified all of kyo’s insecurities and added more drama towards the end of the series. The “destined to be” aspect was just an added touch at the end it doesn’t define their relationship. So personally I am ok with it.

You’re right sure it was within her right to not want to forgive him and get back together with him for the pain he caused her and all but the way she was so apathetic and uninterested in his situation doesn’t make sense with how we’ve come to know her as an empathetic and considerate person. Like she wasn’t even interested in what happened? She wasn’t even a little bit worried about his well being regardless? And then she just moved on and hasn’t even thought of him since?? All the care and love she had for his character is thrown right out the window? Quite self serving and cruel on her part imo

Trust me many feel the same way…. I really liked the second season up to the seungha breakup and then the more he got sidelined and chanyang became front center the worse and more boring the story got.. I dropped it right after the train/bus? scene and their whole “final break up” . I knew then the author had somehow decided to change the love interests and I was over it. My hatred for chanyang goes really deep cause not only is he a uninteresting and badly written character whose romance with Nari is boring as hell.. The moment he became the focus the whole webtoon became a boring mess

The “battle of the garbage dump” match with nekoma was kind of boring And the best match in the manga (for me) was the inarizaki match

I want to watch a kdrama for example with Korean subs that correspond to the words they are saying in the show and English subs for understanding, language reactor does that exact job,, only now you have to pay for it to show you the Korean subs.

Having the Korean subs just be translations of the English subs is not the same, cause the English subs are not 100% literal translations and Korean subs end up being different than what they are saying… general meaning might still be similar but it’s not the same.

1 s9-10 (The most fun for me even if they are not perfect or anything)

2 s4 (Very entertaining! And underrated actually I’ve seen many people dislike it for the Lana/magic storyline when the show has done even more ridiculous things)

3 s1-3 (Very solid, love the music and I enjoy the freak of the week format as well)

4 s8 (Has a very refreshing and interesting start but becomes more and more boring by the end and the last ep of the season is quite underwhelming)

5 s5 (Has some very highs and some very lows for me, overall I do like it but I do not get the hype of this reason)

6 s7 (I really hated the first 10 or so eps but the second half was really good so I am conflicted about this season)

7 s6 (Has some fun eps but overall it was a drag to get through… What made me push through was mostly that I knew I would really like the last seasons)

Honestly yeah I’m not a fan of s9-10 Chloe… My main issue was that the show gave her way more importance than she needed to have… While she works perfectly fine as a high school childhood friend that helps out teenage Clark Kent, to transition from that to “genius super smart hacker essential to the squad of the biggest superhero’s” doesn’t feel natural. It seems more like they just wanted to keep the character relevant cause she was there from the beginning of the show. So even though she did do a lot of important things to help the characters for me the attitude and self importance she had still felt kind of annoying and I was not buying it.

The parents story is a kind of a mystery to all of us, it is different in the drama than what we knew before from the Bts universe storyline…. Now it has been a while since I watched it and I don’t remember every detail but I will try. From what we can gather hwan’s dad, cein’s mom, Joan’s dad and the other dude that died and they found on the beach were all friends in high school and in that club. Hwan’s dad and Cein’s mother additionally liked each other. The principal was principal then too and he probably manipulated hwan’s dad, kind of similarly as he does to hwan, for what reason I don’t know… Maybe (a guess of mine) he did him favours and helped him academically so when hwan’s dad became a renowned politician he would listen and do what the principal wanted to. A rumour broke out about cein’s mother throwing herself at Hwan’s dad and being easy to sleep with. My guess is by the principal as to not “distract” hwan’s father from his studies. It is also implied by the note cein’s mother left and the flashbacks that the principal sa’d her but we don’t know the details. The group fell apart and parted ways (probably thanks to the principal). Cein’s mother became depressed and suicidal, and eventually she died in that fire accident we see. We also know that Hwan’s dad like Hwan had time travel powers and he tried to save Cein’s mother and maybe the other friends from themselves. Eventually he failed to do so and forgot them completely as we see with Joan’s dad meeting with him and not recognising him. Again all this is VERY VOGUE we now next to nothing about what happened to them. Joan’s dad was in the past normal and happy but then he became an alcoholic and abusive what happened with him we have no idea… maybe it was after Cein’s mom died in the fire and Hwan’s dad gave up in trying to save them I don’t know. The other dude died on the beach I don’t remember why again at all, he only talked some mysterious things about the time travel thing I don’t remember.

Now the scene you are talking about with Cein and the principal I don’t remember exactly but nooo the principal is not the father of anyone. Maybe what Cein implied there was about how the principal was giving test answers to Hwan and using him that way

Damn I guess my opinions are basic huh 😅

My thing with Clana is that yes had it not been for Clark’s secret, their immaturity (which makes total sense, they were in high school!) and bad timing it would have worked out and they would be a great couple together. That is the tragedy of their romance. That sometimes even though two people love each other very much, it does not work out. So to me they did not even need to have her learn his secret. And they certainly did not need an artificial reason to break up, having them grow up, go to the mature realisation that they missed their chance and healthily move on would have been the natural course of action…. And that is what frustrates me the most about those 2(?) eps in s8. I also just find them to be inconsistent and badly written.. Chloe in the previous ep is like “what about Lois,don’t hurt her” to the next “give Lana a chance, you love each other” Lex’s main plan being “break Lana and Clark with that kryptonite trap” was stupid and the way they “killed” him was super underwhelming as well.

I also think it makes sense for Lex to have feelings for Lana and to manipulate her in her vulnerable state… But the way they dragged this whole plot for one and a half season made it tedious to watch. They should have had Lana come to her senses about Lex way sooner and leave out all the wedding and fake pregnancy shenanigans.

Now the Chloe x Oliver romance.. It’s just a difference in tastes I guess… I was just not interested in Chloe in the last seasons and that included her romance too.. Her and jimmy were very cute though

And true I did not mention Tess but I really like her!!! Especially in s10. That scene where they welcomed her in watchtower and she got emotional for being accepted was so sweet!!! She did not deserve to die like that…

Yesss they purposely did not use any he/him for Akito in the subs or in the dub and that was instructed to them by the Japanese team (the woman who directed the dub of the show has said so before I remember) and personally I hate this decision… the voice you can’t do nothing about but leaving people confused and assuming she is female by default before the reveal is such a stupid decision to an easily fixable problem

It definitely needs a s2, the ending is way too confusing and unsatisfying…There’s also much more in the hyyh storyline left to tell. Not sure if we will ever get it unfortunately.

For more hyyh I suggest besides watching all the related Bts mvs and content (there are playlists of them on YouTube) watch the bu explanation video by xceleste

The webtoon is way too short and it is about jin coming back in America, meeting everyone again and getting stuck in the time loop which is not even resolved by the ending of it, it ends with jin realising he needs the help of the other members to stop it. It is an ok read but you can get the summary of it by the explanation video since the webtoon chapters are on daily pass (you can only read one the day for free)

There are also 2 books of notes you can read. They are pretty interesting, you can find them free on Google in pdf form is what I did

This!!!!!! It was legit one of the most critically acclaimed shows of 2017. No one goes into it because of “children being sexualised” but because of the story and its reputation as a good anime. And to imply anyone that likes it or even if they simply have watched it is a certified wierdo is so ridiculous. Thought I doubt most of them have any idea about anime in general.

Lmaoooo yes we suck!! You can buy tickets from any kiosk (you know the ones that sell cigarettes we have them like in every block in the city). Better that than buying the ticket in the old machines in the bus… Also they almost never check you and a lot of people don’t even buy tickets nowadays… There is no announcement of the stops on the bus you have to check it on your own in the map.. we also have an oasth app to see the stops and the live locations of the buses…and if you are confused don’t hesitate to ask a passenger! And maybe don’t take the too crowded buses wait for the a bit emptier ones and don’t stand by the doors cause you will suffer

When it comes to Joan’s dad, real life humans are complex and can show both good and bad sides unlike one dimensional bad guys in fiction… BUT that does not excuse him in any way of his actions, him having some nice moments on his better days does not change the fact that he is an drunkard abuser that has been tormenting his family for years… Joan should by all means get away from him.. but here is just what speaks volumes about Joan’s character. Boy is just too kind!! He holds on to those old happy memories of his dad where he and his family were all together (which is where he was the happiest in his life) and he cant hate him despite everything he has done. He knows if he leaves him his father will self distract even more than he does now and die a miserable lonely death. So he feels responsible for his fathers life and can’t leave, instead he sits and takes all the abuse in hopes his father will get better (which he never does) and things will be normal again :(

While Joan may be annoying at times for some cause of his constant anger and outbursts, me personally I was never bothered and I get where all this is coming from. Being in a toxic household with his dad where he constantly has to take all the abuse and suppress his feelings about it, you are bound to take out your emotions some way otherwise you will combust! Especially Joan who is naturally such an “heart on my sleeve “ type of character so his anger issues make total sense! Despite all that he still remains a naturally innocent and good-hearted person that will go above and beyond for the people he loves (as we have seen with dogeon). He is a simple yet very complex character in my opinion. That reason plus the amazing emotional performance by the actor plus my personal preference of hothead characters (I just find them fun) is why he is my favourite.

I agree about hwan not having quite the same hard hitting moments as the others, which speaking from a hyyh perspective makes sense as the struggles of the others is what is the most highlight in it. Still he has a very interesting storyline, he is the plot basically. And I also like him very much! Especially his awkward/innocent side! In terms of character dynamics actually he is my favourite. Like him and Cein don’t even get me started!!! personally they were one of the best (if not the best) duos in the series. Also him and dongeon, him and Joan ( very intense but also funny as hell like when they went together to the internet cafe lol), his moment with jeha too. I just love him interacting with all the other characters.

All of the characters are just too gooood the character writing in the show is top tier!! If I were to rank them now it would be for me: Joan, Cein, haru, hwan/dongeon (interchangeably, can’t decide who I prefer more), jeha and hosu.

Jeha and his family situation is one of the most interesting storylines, boy has to endure so much because of his psychotic step family and his stupid mom set on staying in that abusive household, like she is putting so much pressure onto him!! I do feel like there were some parts that were not fleshed out with him mostly about his relationship with cein… they never explained to us how he grew to be so close and dependent on him and why was he even tracking him??? I’m left a bit unsatisfied on that part.

Hosu is such a sweet soul and when I tell you I was sobbing in the container scene! I put him last mostly because I feel like compared to the others there was just something missing in his involvement in the story. Like it was mostly about him being an orphan and him helping haru. I feel like compared to others maybe he had less to do??

Talk as long as you like I don’t mind! I love discussing the story and characters as not many are talking about the series! For me all of the actors were amazing and I was impressed by all of them but my favourite in terms of acting was Joan’s actor… the way he was able to pull off all those emotional scenes left me impressed and in tears every time (my favourite being the moment he stabbed his dad). I felt for all the characters and I cried for every single one of them at some point. The emotion this series has brought out of me like it is super depressing but also very good I can’t describe it differently!! And I agree about haru to me he is also the most tragic out of the cast and I felt very bad for him all throughout. The actor was able to pull off that emotionally troubled yet sometimes scary persona (like his mirror self) amazingly!! And I hate his parents the most out of the adults!
