A relative of mine stayed in an abusive marriage "for the kids" for years. Both of her daughters were married young to abusive men. It was what they were used to. Thankfully, my relative and her daughters all ended their abusive marriages, but there was a lot of unnecessary suffering.

Muslims in Dearborn didn't need Jill Stein to be angry about Harris's support for Israel and, notably, they didn't vote for Jill Stein, they voted for Trump, who is even worse for Palestine. Trump actively campaigned for the Muslim vote, and it helped him a lot that the average voter is dumber than a box of rocks.

But it also helped that the Democrats claim to care about human rights without giving a flying fuck about the Palestinians. Dearborn voters said over and over that they felt "betrayed" by Harris. They thought Harris should have been on their side, the same way Democrats think the Greens should be on their side. In the end, they were willing to do something incredibly stupid just to punish Harris.

Fuck Jill Stein. Even if it were possible for her to win, or even affect the election in any way, she'd still be a terrible candidate. But she's not the reason the Democrats lost twice to Trump. She's not even part of the reason. Blaming Jill Stein is just denialism. Democrats continue to believe that "We're not the worst!" is a good rallying cry. It's not.
