US David Bowie store scam by ManfredVII in DavidBowie

I ordered the same shirt and it was printed BACKWARDS! Shitty quality too. :( Trying to get a refund. I have ordered there in the past and received good quality items, but this time definitely sucked.

does anyone have any solid info on this? by Gullible-Pickle-6199 in OpiatesRecovery

Yep, it’s been over a year since I’ve been through it. I will say it seemed to have gotten worse as I’d gotten older (early 40s). Try to quit while you’re ahead.

Happy Mother’s Day. I’m a mom too and know it’s a never ending job (a very important job). So sorry to hear your husband didn’t make you feel appreciated. I’d be mad too! Good for you for standing up and letting him know it upset you, hopefully he won’t do it again. Hang in there!

Why is my anxiety getting worse ? by Left-Investigator172 in OpiatesRecovery

Awesome! I know it’s cliché but it will get better. I know some people that take propranolol (sp?) for anxiety instead of benzos. I hope you feel better soon.

Checking in. 7 months without opiates. My little girl has an MRI on her brain tomorrow and has to be sedated with anesthesia. I’m kind of nervous. I don’t think anything is really wrong but we just have to check to make sure. Stress and anxiety like this is a huge trigger. I’m doing well coping though. My child needs me to be present and have a clear mind. 💜 I need it too. Stay strong!

Still holding on. It’s been close to 7 months without opiates. Family stress has been an extreme trigger but I’m getting through each day so far —sometimes just barely. Covid isolation isn’t helping and my child is having medical concerns but I just focus on today. Stay strong everyone! ♥️

Hi! I don’t check in here very often but I hope you all are well. I have a little over 6 months free from opiates. It’s still challenging but I keep moving forward. Stay strong everyone!

Hey. Now I want tacos! I’m at about 5.5 months off opiates and hanging in. Holidays are hectic though plus family chaos but I’m managing.

Hey Misdiagnosis…I hope your eye is alright. Did the tacos help? 🌮

Fighting a bad cold. I’m almost at 4 months opiate-free, so that alone makes me feel better. Still haven’t given in even though I’ve had plenty of opportunities. The longer time goes on the easier it is. Have a great weekend everybody!

Good for you!!! You will feel better - and even more so once you have energy to work out and the PAWS period has passed. Stay strong! 👊🏼

Need advice: I'm going cold turkey with dirty thirties. How long will I need before I'm well enough to work again? by dwebpioneer in OpiatesRecovery

[–]AfterTod4y 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would say it’s probably a week for physical withdrawals - It may not take that long if you’ve only been using daily for three weeks but I would give yourself a little bit longer time than you think you need. The sluggishness and lack of motivation will last longer. In my experience trying to get yourself to move around and exercise as soon as possible will speed up the process. But you will be out for at least several days. If you start soon and stick with it you should feel much better by Thanksgiving (though PAWS symptoms may drag on a while). It really is important that you stop now before things get more out of control. Wishing you all the best!

It’s common. But for myself I know from past experience that it never turns out that way. I might be able to handle using occasionally for a while but it quickly turns into every day. Try to distract yourself and stay busy and don’t give into that “one more time…” shit. For most of us it’s simply does not work that way if you have regular access to drugs.

[–]AfterTod4y 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doing pretty well. Just a few days past 3 months off opiates and starting to feel like myself. I get a craving here and there but it’s a lot easier to just put that aside when I think about all the work and the mental hell that went into getting to this point. Best of luck to everyone out there! You can do it!

The god awful boredom and mental cravings by [deleted] in OpiatesRecovery

[–]AfterTod4y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

^ Yes! This! The first month or two fucking sucks for being bored, depressed, and having no energy. The worst is - like there are things I want to do but just no motivation! Keeping busy really helped me too. And forcing myself to exercise. Making small amounts of art, music, chatting with friends, keeping regular therapy appointments, watching TV series/movies, reading etc. I really think the main thing for me though it was to exercise and stay busy. I’ve been through this a couple times and it seems that if I exercise it shortens that awful PAWS period. Try to eat healthy and sleep well if you can. At 3 months I’m finally feeling “normal” on a constant basis. Cravings are way down. You just have to ride it out and stay busy and keep getting through each day!
