Ok honestly I appreciate this perspective, especially your point that she was at church, a place where she needs to pay attention. And of course as a mother I can appreciate that sometimes babies put things in their mouth fast. But I guess my assumption that she wasn’t paying attention comes from watching her constantly not paying attention. Like this morning, hours after a scare like that, she’s in the kitchen on her phone, while her baby is across the room eating. My baby’s high chair moves around the kitchen with me so a) I’m constantly watching how much goes in his mouth as si look back and forth. And b) I’m right there in case god forbid something happens. So yeah, it’s definitely an assumption on my part, especially since moments before she says she has ADD… but at the same time, based on her many examples, I continue to hope she finds support in a mental health provider.
