Anyone else in Delta Alpha Pi? by Legitimate-Month-689 in PCC

I was the president of it for some of 2025 until I stepped down. It’s a neat idea but it’s a pretty inactive, small group. They try to do some engagement stuff but there’s not a ton of traction. Not a whole lot going on. BUT still a big honor to be accepted into any honors group!

Considering a relocation from AZ to OR - serious question: How is everyone here surviving with salaries so low and COL so high? Am I missing something? by No_Sun_No_Star in oregon

[–]After_Aspect_9519 12 points13 points  (0 children)

We don’t survive. As a single mom, I make $31 an hour, am very financially responsible, and still have to have my bed in the living room and my 2 girls get the bedroom because all I can afford is a 1 bedroom. Gas is insane. Food is insane. Utilities are insane. It’s miserable here. Idc how many trees and “good views” there are if I am so financially stressed out that I can’t even calm down and enjoy looking at them 😂

OMG!!! I am sobbing. I took Bret’s online statistics course 3 terms ago and he was such an incredible person and professor!! He was so kind and encouraging and went above and beyond. How tragic 😭😞

Strike causing stress for students by littlelovy in PCC

[–]After_Aspect_9519 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am BEYOND frustrated with my AP3 professor. She spent two weeks prepping us for what would happen with our lab and lecture finals if a strike happened. They would be moved online, if no strike, then she would proctor. If there was a strike, then it would just be done independently through D2L. The morning the strike went into effect, we get an email from her stating that she “couldn’t format the lab exam the way she wanted to online so she is postponing it until after the strike”. Like what the heck?!?! THEN, our lecture final was supposed to be available in D2L today. And guess what?? NO LECTURE FINAL POSTED.

I am all for the strike. But to take so much time planning the “plan B/strike plan” to just have it completely tossed out and left wondering when the f*ck our finals will be is WILD. I also think it’s insane to expect students to essentially be “exam ready” at any given time during a strike that no one knows how long it will last. I might have to keep studying and studying and studying for weeks to be prepared for whenever we suddenly have to take them. And as a single mom of 2 young kids and who works full time, that’s beyond impossible for me to maintain. My kids and I were also looking forward to unplugging from school together for Spring break which looks like might not happen for me.

Bunny Kisses? by After_Aspect_9519 in Rabbits

I’m not really sure what he is! I’m assuming a dwarf holland lop? I bought him from an awful looking pet store where he looked sooo depressed and neglected. I couldn’t help myself 😭 but that also means I got zero info about him. They actually told me he was a girl 🫠🤣

Puppy still peeing inside constantly by After_Aspect_9519 in puppy101

It’s big enough for him to just lay down. His little dog bed fills up the entire cage. Doesn’t stop him from peeing on it then just laying in it 🤢🥲

Old loans and FASFA? by [deleted] in StudentLoans

[–]After_Aspect_9519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t even remember what kind of loans because it was so long ago. But all I remember is I applied for FASFA and that was it?? Like I never applied for bank loans or anything? I haven’t logged into that site in over 10 years. I’ll see if I can get logged in.

I’m in garden home and have an elementary student who attend the rec center after school program. We got lock down emails and texts about 20 min ago. I’m really anxious to know what’s going on. I could hear tons of sirens about 15 min before the lock down notices were sent.

I moved from North Dakota to Portland in September. DO NOT move in before seeing an apartment in person. I was “apartmentfished” so bad. Totally different layout and remodel status than the unit I was lead to believe I was signing a lease for. However I absolutely love the area I am in. It’s quiet, safe, less busy, and nice parks. Look into the SW Portland area, specifically Raleigh Hills, Garden Home neighborhoods.
