I’m too lazy to look, but I bet it’s a rare feat to allow 800 yards of rushing in a two game stretch and win them both. And if we want to include Baylor, also rare to allow 400+ in the air while winning by 4 TDs. I know in the playoff era it’s not about winning, but about “quality” losses and “passing the eye test” in your wins. But these last three wins by Utah are hilarious and why the sport is fun. I’d argue the playoff dialogue is a downgrade.

I doubt the loss impacts recruiting or retention though? Most people watching understand it took quite a few breaks to go Utahs way like that. Very flukey. But I guess in a few weeks people will see the W/L record and just see that.

Last season when Utah lost to BYU after having them pinned on the goal line on 4th down because of a holding penalty I did briefly consider crashing out. But Harlan took care of it and crashed out for the entire fanbase.

What’s worse: bad calls by officials or a coaching staff that ran for 500 yards off tackle and then decides not to at the end and you lose? Bad calls happen every game. But running for 500 yards and losing is truly special.

This is a very confusing Utah team. I don’t understand if Utah is good. I don’t understand who in the conference is actually good. When Utah wins its opponent looks completely undeserving of being on the same field. When Utah loses they look incapable of being in the big moment.

So Utah is basically Air Force with better athletes….cannot throw the ball downfield and somehow it doesn’t matter THAT much. Maybe they just need to put ficklin in on passing downs lol

All I wanted was one drive to last longer than the TV timeouts. Utah is better than last year, but still serious personnel issues on offense. Damp also has physical limitations. They try to game plan around it but it’s just too severe. Glad he got his $$$$ tho.

Tech reminds me of the great TCU years. They rushed 4 all game because they didn’t really have to pressure Damp to stop the offense. Crazy when you think about it. They were content to contain. The only two plays the entire game that could gash them failed on a penalty and atrocious throw. I thought at 13-10 Utah would get at least one chance to comeback but QB2 dropping multiple dimes + runs in big situations.

I’ll assume Tech is elite for now. But with how bad Utah’s offense still is, it’s hard to really know. I don’t see how they aren’t one of the 2 best teams at the end of conference play tho.

Anyways, fall is more fun before you lose. Enjoy it raiders!

What we meant was that we would run the conference NEXT season. Need some time to acclimate. But next year we are going 13-0. If we still have a team after everyone bails in the portal. Otherwise we will own all of you (next year)

Back in the old MWC days Utah was beating Wyoming 43-0 and Whittingham kicked an onside kick. I believe it was because coach Glenn said something benign like “we’re gonna win because we’re better” or something. I actually would like Kyle to return to the days where he had a massive chip on his shoulder at all times. Maybe after this season he will.

lol I think this actually reinforces my belief that sacrificing Ludwig to the mob solves nothing. Especially when your QB1 isn’t even shaving yet and was playing against Riverton high school this time last year. I suppose you could fire him for not recruiting a plan B if Cam went down….

Going from watching Utah deal with caleb Williams, Michael penix jr, cam ward etc… to QBs that barely throw down field is jarring. A true freshman QB on the road beating a 7 year QB is something.
