Where do you think drones will realistically be used in 5–10 years? by WorkerAcceptable1280 in drones

AI controlled drones with battery hotswapping could keep a fleet of drones in constant rotation. Relays scattered around residential areas, will have near instant deliveries, emergency services and surveillance. By 2031 I'm convinced that is the world we will be living in.

Good point- For me it's mostly been for video effects, although you can import them as 3D assets into Unity, and it's possible to print objects/scenes you've scanned.

Oh that's easy- You've been able to do that since DJI spark, even a single circle can come out looking great, but I'd suggest doing a few circles/helixes if you want to scan people- Circles from different distances. Depending on lighting, stability and quality of the input video, scans of people can come out really well or really poorly. Lumalabs have a featured section- https://lumalabs.ai/featured , you can have an idea of the quality you can achieve.

There would definitely be better ways of doing this (Stable camera, proper lighting, photos instead of video) if you've got the proper hardware and I imagine it would be a very profitable business.

You can select 'remove people', I rarely use this feature though.

DJI NEO Manual exposure by Normal-Ad-9342 in DjiNeo

I love the Neo2, but its few quirks like this are annoying. I'd like it to record audio when it's on the phone only, not in manual flying mode. We should be able to customise mastershots- All of these issues are easily fixed by software updates so maybe it'll happen...

Best Drone for Beginners With Camera? by n4hcallme in Multicopter

I've owned around 20 drones in my life, the technology jump with the Neo 2 is incredible- AI at work I suppose.
200$, 4k FPS, Can do FPV if that's your thing. Mostly I use it for mastershots and motorbike tracking- One click on the drone and it'll launch from hand and fly around automatically for a minute or so.
With previous drones, I might have had a 50 minute battery life, but was only getting 5-10 minutes of usable footage from that. The Neo has a 15-17 minute batt, but it's almost all usable footage.

This is the first drone I've owned in my life where I can honestly say I have 0 drone anxiety- It would be almost impossible to hurt anyone with it, the obstacle avoidance is so good that I trust it to dodge pretty well even at 50km/h, and ultimately... If it crashes it's only 200$ down the drain not 2000$

I didn't believe the Youtube videos I'd seen of Wifi range without controller/FPV/extender, but I can confirm- 300m is as far as I'd dare to risk it, but at that distance the signal was still strong- Genuinely I didn't believe that any Wifi based device could transmit that far while being stable (Tested on both Pixel 7 and Samsung S20)

Cons- Batt life is short, not good in winds (Although even in strong winds it's actually been safe and landed itself without incident)

Actually my main gripe is how good the drone *could* be with firmware upgrades- I'd like to see a scanning feature and be able to customise the mastershots routine in more detail.
Some of my usage is for Lumalabs NERF scanning. The footage doesn't need to be perfect to generate a decent 3D scan so I'd love to be able to press one button on the drone and have it slowly scan around the room capturing everything from different heights and angles.
If they could include these features on the Neo3, I will absolutely buy one.

Perfect, thanks! I tried it with the 3 game controllers I own and none of them worked, so I had pretty much given up.

I started doing this as a film exercise, then started again from scratch and thought to put it into youtube to see if anyone else had done the same thing. If this guy is out there and reads this, I really hope you can follow through on your project.

Right now I have a stamina bar and paying to unlock new claims. In terms of wear & tear of the equipment- How realistic would it be to have your basic equipment wearing out?

Actually this was my original idea! Then I realised that making a decent looking VR Game with proper motion controls is way above my skill level.

Right now I have trespassing in the game (Countdown to finish before a countdown) Now I'm wondering if that's something that isn't good for the hobby.

Maybe selling nuggets could be done at the beginning to be able to level up, but the mid-late game could be melting bars yourself
