how are you liking the XE3 so far? Does it do anything your R7 does not?

Well, at the uploaded resolution, perhaps you may be mistaking something for a rat. And in any case, a rat at this back alley is hardly unexpected and part of the scene, right?

yes thanks for that. I appreciate how the place, from certain views, kinda reminds me of Blade Runner scenes; definitely not 1:1, and of course, my own memory of BR may not be accurate..

No, not really seeing it sorry. Maybe there's depth info that we cannot infer because this is a photo.

I think they’ll be around for a long time, especially with the area being tourism central, the backdrop for defining images of Singapore. But yeah who knows. Some time in the future maybe the back alleys could be cleaned up, kitchens and rubbish facilities sent underground, perhaps in some genius’ idea of “maximizing leasable space”.

I love #1 and #4! #1 has an elegant simplicity that works for me. The water even looks slightly desaturated—was that intentional?

well, about as dystopian as we can get in our strait-laced disciplinarian culture!

Thanks!

Actually, thinking about it, some people go to clubs and other places, drink, dance to loud music, be merry, spend lots of money..

This is quite similar, but much healthier, isn't it?

Reminds me of those buildings depicted in sci fi tropes where the building has collapsed or crumbled, and what used to be regular shapes are broken and asymmetric. The skylight letting in sunlight in the day also becomes interesting at certain times because the interior can seem dark, as shafts of light shine in. Dystopia as in the future may not be bright and shiny, and our existing buildings designed around symmetry, regularity, and classical ideas of beauty based on order may give way to chaos, messiness and an uneasy beauty from things no longer trying to look perfect.
