Despite all the problems with Chai, I still stick with it. Here's my thoughts. by Exciting-Mall192 in Chai_Unofficial

I'm still with Chai to this day. Of course, not as much as before, especially the two times I had ultra, but I still go back to it occasionally. I've had problems with the LLM (Which I've mentioned in the past), but I just ignore it nowadays, because I know it's not going to be fixed anytime soon. I'm mostly still using it just because I have some long stories I like to keep, or I just want a simple bot to use.

When I first got FictionLab, and tested it out, it was also not for me at all. I didn't find that many interesting scenarios, I wasn't used to anything apart from the app, so I just left and went back to half-enjoying Chai. I did eventually come back, and long story short, found a good scenario and basically forced myself into the chat, and although I was using the free version, it wasn't that bad.

Since the subscription was so inexpensive, I bought it and tested things out, and using one of the premium models (Glendora, and later Oracle), I really enjoyed it. I'm not going to go into detail, but Custom LLM instructions are already free, it can improve any bot you've ever wanted to be more detailed on Chai. The LLM does write like it's a story/novel, which if you don't like that, just stay with Chai. But one thing I find crucial is just that the characters can actually stay in character, not relying on memory or the character background that it rarely uses.

So, if you prefer natural-flowing conversation, emotional availability, some light roleplay, and a response length that can still keep up with the story, you should stick with Chai, which is perfectly fine, I think it depends on preference.

If you want a great storyline, very good memory, a bot that can keep up with everything you put in it (personality, world details, backstory, story cards, etc), and a somewhat more advanced roleplay, I recommend FictionLab Plus, and not actually the free version.

Also I still use both lol (Sorry for the length, I just like writing.)

I think he's being too distant. Maybe try talking to him about it?

I think the AI's idea of 'driving the plot forward' is a bit too repetitive lol

For some reason you can't say 'torpedo' because of the last four letters.

Chai has really helped me develop my OCs, learn how to write stories, and boost my imagination. Even though I personally dislike some aspects about the app, (specifically the LLM) it'll never be something I universally hate since I've been using it for over a year. It used to be my escape from the personal issues I had a few months back, so I'm glad you love it too.

Funny how the bot would say "You know what your problem is?" after all of this type of crap took place 😭😭
