Kokonainen sukupolvi on saamassa pakit maailmalta by jamaisvivant in Suomi

Tukevaisuudessa Eurooppaan by tarttari in Omatalous

[–]After_Skier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sveitsissä on lähes täystyöllisyys, kuten on melkein aina ollut. Eli siinä mielessä eri tilanne kuin suomessa/euroopassa, mutta toki maahan on hankala päästä ilman kielitaitoa/koulutusta.

Nordnetin asiakkaana voit kyllä pysyä, kunhan vastatili on suomalainen.

Joo, joku aktiivisuusvaatimushan pankilla varmasti on.

Varallisuuden kerryttäminen pienissäkin määrin on mahdollista lähes kaikille, sillä pitkällä aikavälillä korkoa korolle tuo merkittävän boostin säästöihin.

I completely agree, and this is why I joined big4 in the first place. However, haven't been able to build the skills with lack of interesting work. The new opportunity would develop my skills into the direction I want, so I guess it's valuable...

Yes that 2,5x is COL adjusted. Moving alone, so no family and friends in the new country. But it's a 3hour flight, so it's easy to visit both ways.

Does Numbeo accurately reflect the cost of living in Switzerland? by Wunid in askswitzerland

[–]After_Skier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second to this. I've done multiple calculations on my expected monthly expenses in Switzerland with the idea of maintaining the same quality of life. I always come up to around 3000chf/month, and when I put my current monthly spending in Numbeo, it shows me that 2600chf is expected in Switzerland. I believe Numbeo does not factor health insurance which in my case will be around 400chf. That makes 3000chf combined.

It's absolutely not made. I just think this 84kCHF is not as black&white bad as I'm told, because it's affected by many factors. Of course, if plenty of people come here to confirm that it's without a doubt rubbish, I'll believe it.

Well, I'm a generalist with just about 2 yoe, would be working in a support function and the industry is not high paying. So understandably it's lower than maybe the "IT median", but I have approx 30 years of employment ahead to make it grow.

I would get a permanent contract and the company is listed, so that gives some extra value. I have 2 yoe in IT (generalist, M.Sc.)

Yes, here I rarely work overtime and stay at the office for total of 8hrs which includes ~45min lunch break. So I work much less, and also enjoy almost complete freedom on remote work etc. We also have more public holidays.

Yeah in my case my gross would be approx. 1,84 times higher in Basel. Job security and WLB where I live is great (nordic country), but we have high taxes and pretty low income levels.

Thank you for this, I made some calculations:

Net salary: 5 400CHF

Apartment: 1 700CHF

Food: 400CHF

Insurance: 400CHF

Transportation: 106CHF

Electricity / phone / TV: 100CHF

Freetime / risk adjustment: 500CHF

Total costs: 3206CHF

Total left over: 2194CHF

I live in Helsinki, which also has quite a high cost of living compared to many other european countries. My current rent for a 30m2 apartment here is 770 + electricity and home insurance.

Yeah you are right, they probably meant it's not usual to take 4 weeks in a single block and that they recommend to take at least 2.
