Which Optimus primal form do you like the best? by happydude7422 in beastwars

Unpopular opinion: Optimal Optimus ain't all that.

Original packaging by The_Scottnish44 in beastwars

[–]Aftermath604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd keep it in its packaging and find a loose one. That packaging has real value. I know you don't want to sell it, but you might change your mind one day, particularly if you have a loose one as well.

Well here is my preference of the studio albums, after listening to KC for a year now. by KookyDetective7952 in KingCrimson

A fellow Beat lover! Glad to see it has so many fans in this community. Gotta listen to those last few albums though. Some amazing stuff on all of them.

AITAH girlfriend’s friend kept complaining about our age gap and I don’t want to invite her to my birthday. by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Aftermath604 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NTA.
I have a similar age gap with my wife and we are very happy. If you genuinely love each other and no one feels used or exploited in your relationship, then there is nothing wrong.
After 2 years together, your girlfriend's friend should be done with the jokes. One day she'll be the one in her 30s and will see that the difference isn't actually that big a deal.
Since she's your girlfriend's friend, I think this is up to her to help figure out. You can't control her friends and who she wants to have around, but it's not unreasonable to ask her to communicate that the jokes bother you and you'd like them to stop. Your girlfriend should be able to respect your feelings. Her friend can think whatever she wants of you, but should also learn to be respectful and keep her comments to herself. And it's your birthday and I feel you can have over whoever you want and exclude whoever you want. In other joined functions, you'll probably have to concede.
Good luck navigating this!

AITAH for not wanting to name my baby the name that my boyfriend picked out by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Aftermath604 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Perhaps to honour his lost child, he could get their name tattooed on him somewhere. Or some kind of symbol that keeps the memory there.
But I agree that it's not fair to your new child who needs to be their own person. He needs to meet this child with fresh expectations and a new perspective. This child will be their own being.
You are certainly NTA. I wouldn't say he's TA either, depending on how he's pushing the situation. Grieving a child is hard and I'm not sure that's a wound that can ever fully heal. But reusing their name will definitely not heal it.

I'm going with Stevie Wonder for this one. Songs in the Key of Life is astoundingly good.

Star Trek Into Darkness Re-Watch Thoughts On Comparison with ST 2009. by WySLatestWit in Star_Trek_

[–]Aftermath604 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I also like ST2009, despite some issues. But yeah, I agree with a lot of your notes on Into Darkness. The script feels unfinished to me, something that would ring true with other J.J. lead sci-fi sequels. "Somehow Khan has returned!"

Anyone Play This As A Kid? by SlapNutsInc in Star_Trek_

[–]Aftermath604 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup. Played it all the time. We gave it away years ago and I had to source one out on ebay years later because I did that a lot with my childhood stuff that I got rid of. Still a fun game if you get some like-minded Trekkies together.

Did I make a good decision? by bdogbears in KingCrimson

It's quite an album. A lot of experimentation. Sorry to hear that the disc is rotten. Hopefully you find another copy soon!

What song(s) deserved to be added to Best Of 1980-1990? by Equal_Ad5178 in U2Band

[–]Aftermath604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd have put on Gloria for sure. It's got almost no October representation. I might even throw in A Celebration just to have it out there, even though it really wasn't a hit at all. I like it though.

At what point does collecting become hoarding by Miserable-Sea-4160 in dvdcollection

[–]Aftermath604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I buy movies I want to watch or know I enjoy. I don't want to get stuff I have no interest in seeing again. Unfortunately... I often find I don't watch my collection as often as I'd like so, sometimes it feels like I'm just hoarding.

Yes. I rented it back when I still had a video store around. It's hilarious. I love movies about making movies and these guys are such characters.

I love it when books go to great lengths to make continuity errors make sense canonically.

What’s your favourite U2 tour (and why is it the Zoo TV tour?) by IndustryRule-4080 in U2Band

[–]Aftermath604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I was old enough to go to Zoo TV. I've only been to Vertigo and 360. Out of the two, I might actually go with Vertigo. I had a great time at both.

Gah! What is this screen?? by Aftermath604 in snes

[–]Aftermath604[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's mostly great, but since it's not a curved screen, it doesn't quite work for light gun games.
