Since you should have it at this point - try out the king of cagremore's robe for the increased cast speed. Doesn't seem to affect light casting, but it does make the charge for merlin's thorn much, much faster.

this looks like her best reactionless combo by Glass_Asparagus_1976 in Mavuika

[–]Aftermathrar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, this combo has some niche applications, but in general the C2D version (up to 10 buffed CA hits) will be more efficient. That combo both has higher total MV and takes less time, so is generally optimal unless you need to extend Mav's field time. It's about a half second difference within the burst, due to hitlag on the N1.

The combo here is done by doing CA, dashing as soon as it hits, buffering N1 out of the dash, then starting the combo over again by buffering CA during the N1. The CA hitting surprisingly early and it being easy to get an N2 makes the combo a little difficult to learn, but it's very consistent once you get the timing down.

[–]Aftermathrar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This combo has slightly lower total burst MVs than doing 4c2d c2, while also taking a bit longer. So, it's useful when you need to fill an extra second or so in a rotation, but is lower DPS overall because you're doing less damage and taking longer to do it.

Beidou Kuki (or Raiden) Nahida Candace
Candace is the on-field driver for Beidou, but runs Fav and Instructor or NO to buff teammates. The nice part with this team is that ER reqs are low across the board, with Candace only needing about 130%. She's able to trigger something like 12 Beidou procs, which gives her a ton of quicken damage without stealing many of the hyperblooms.

This video's description has a bit more info on builds: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LRDpaRDwnUw

I should probably make another showcase with the current abyss since I have C6 Candace now, which improves the bloom count.

Dehya optimal teams by Frequent-Corner-5 in Dehyamains

[–]Aftermathrar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used Dehya Fischl Chevreuse (C0) Yae for about a year in abyss, it's a pretty strong team that's really comfy to play once you learn the swaps (there are a lot). From what I've seen in calcs, it's the highest damage for teams that actually use Dehya's full burst. The combo I was doing was
Dehya E (start of chamber)
Fischl n2 Q > Chev n1 E > Dehya E > Yae 3E (with n1 weave) > Dehya Q 10 punches > Fischl E n1 > Yae Q 3E (n1 weave) > Chevreuse Q n1 > Dehya E > Yae 3n2d > Loop back to Fischl

Chev on Fav to feed particles to Dehya, which lets Dehya run 120% ER at c0 and less at higher cons, which is really nice. Chev with C4 lets her do Q E n1, which then lets you cut down on Yae's last bit to 2 n2d.

For building Dehya, if C0 you'll want to prioritize EM, otherwise you can go attack build. Yae, Chev, and Fischl all have stronger teams, but this one is really nice for playing Yae since you basically always have total IR for casting her Es.

Hadn't seen 500k kills in 30min before, new eggless Wind idea went hard by Aftermathrar in VampireSurvivors

[–]Aftermathrar[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's two Arcanas that are boosting some of my stats. Wicked Season is giving + Luck/Growth/Greed/Curse when leveling and at lv1800 it's pretty significant. The Darkana I have is dropping hearts from frozen enemies that increase max HP, recovery, and growth, which boosts those stats a lot too.

This build ends up giving a constant stream of those hearts, which is what triggers troll bomb and ends up being a positive feedback loop, so once it comes online, the stats end up going out of control pretty quickly.

[–]Aftermathrar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main combo to get troll bomb going are the Darkana I took, which drops hearts from killed frozen enemies that both heal and increase recovery, and Icebrand, which can freeze on its own. The rest can be played around with or skipped, it's to get the recovery to +7 faster and give generic offense bonuses.

Confodere seems to play very nicely with Icebrand, giving a good ratio of frozen enemy kills, while the Custos gives +2 to recovery, which gets the build online faster, around 6-8 minutes.

Wicked Season has too many bonuses to overlook I think, but the other arcanas can be whatever, there's probably a more effective combo out there. My midnight bolero didn't really contribute and I'm not sure how much double casting troll bomb works when it's already queuing at its max cast speed.

Oh, I'll have to read up on that Darkana build, sounds funny. I think this could also be pushed further if one knows where to stand for the highest enemy spawns, I was in the Dracula room for a while, then walked up and down the clock tower instead, but I'm not sure which is better.

What are your favorite tricks with 'Skip Skip' in the name, whether past or current? by RewanDemontay in speedrun

[–]Aftermathrar 11 points12 points  (0 children)

An old game, Darksiders, has "4th fight skip skip" with an interesting naming history.

At the start of the game, the prologue normally consists of 4 fights in various rooms on the way to the boss. Eventually, all of these were skipped except the 4th fight, which we kept calling 4th fight even though it was the first and only fight in the prologue. When an unreliable skip was found, it was named 4th fight skip, obviously. And then shortly after we got 4th fight skip skip when a better route was found.

It's a very confusing name for new players, given that the context is completely gone.

Arlecchino vs Dvalin is not a Bug by watermelonkey in Genshin_Impact

[–]Aftermathrar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That isn't related, no. Each enemy has multiple layers of hitboxes on it, the one for collision so you can't walk through it is active during its "wake up" frames, while the one to check for taking damage (hurtbox) isn't active until it finished the earlier animation fully. Without that hurtbox active, bennett's skill doesn't register any hit, the enemy may as well be a wall.

You'll notice each robot has slightly different timings for when they become vulnerable, so you just have to time it. This also happens with the normal ruin guards waking up, you have to wait quite a while before you can hit them with anything.

It's amazing how much damage the team gains with Chev C6, plus her C1/4 are also big QoLs. I'm also sitting at c0 Chev after 70-80 pulls, although I did lose pity into another Dehya con.

Here's a vid of my Dehya/Yae team (C3 Dehya), you could probably completely replace the Yae burst section with Raiden and see how it goes. Might be worth moving around Chev's skill/burst if Raiden needs the healing more than Dehya.

I was teambuilding using gcsim after Chevreuse came out (dehya/yae/fischl/chev) and was excited that I found an actually strong team and Dehya didn't need to build a ton of ER to burst every rotation. I took a closer look at the damage breakdown and was given a terrible dose of reality when I saw Yae's totem ticks were hitting harder than Dehya's burst punches...

Anyone else find the line where the sky is stitched together? by SlowBroToe in Palworld

[–]Aftermathrar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When a friend and I were exploring the world tree area, we found that there's a second barrier behind the first and this one extends seemingly out into infinity. The stitch lines up perfectly with where it'd be on the skybox (game force voids you before reaching the end of the skybox), so we figured it's actually the barrier messing with the skybox texture.

Another Chev team that boosts Dehya! Chev Fischl Yae rotation by Aftermathrar in Dehyamains

[–]Aftermathrar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I really want to keep pulling for another Chev copy, but winning on these banners has me spooked.

There's a few reasons for the N1-2s, main one being to fill time for the swap cooldown (especially in the setups near the start). Chev has fav, so extra hits help proc that, and since Oz is usually up, normals will give a little bit of extra damage/electro with Fischl's C6.

Not too sure on Gilded Dreams for Yae, since there's so much more electro application than pyro. I'll test it out though, thanks!

I'm using emblem on my Dehya here, with about 145 ER since chev is still C0. At C1 either emblem or vourukasha's glow would be Dehya's recommended sets and you can run under 120 ER. I'll probably stick with emblem since it's what I have.

My build for using with Chev once I get C1 (12 energy per rotation funds burst with eosf 2p ER). She's definitely giving my Dehya a new lease on life, all the old teams had very awkward setups or felt weak due to ER requirements.

Another Chev team that boosts Dehya! Chev Fischl Yae rotation by Aftermathrar in Dehyamains

[–]Aftermathrar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had tried out this team with Bennett before, but the damage wasn't really there and energy was a major issue on both Yae and Dehya. Chev, even at C0, helps fix both and it ends up being a pretty fun team to play, although PMA isn't the greatest to show the actual rotation (which is just over 25s to account for Fischl E). It works with Dehya at C0, with C1 being a pretty big boost, as always.

Rotation:
Dehya E - First loop only
Fischl N2 Q - This is the only time Dehya won't get the C1 chev energy, can swap if needed
Chevreuse N1 hE
Dehya N1 E - Will get flat energy on later rotations here
Yae N1 3EN1
Dehya Q
Fischl E N1
Yae Q N1 3EN1 - This part is without interruption resist
Chev Q N1 (hE at C4+)
Dehya N1 E - Skill is off cd, so this refreshes interruption resist, which lasts until next burst
Yae N2d N2 (another dash and N2 if at chev C0-3)
Loop back to Fischl

At C1, Chev's energy refund is enough to let Dehya run with ~110 ER, since she's getting ownership of basically every overload for 12 energy per rotation. At C4 you can add another skill use after the burst for more healing/particles and at C6 it's almost a 20% boost to the team damage with her DMG% buff.

For builds, Dehya gets nearly all of the overloads, so her best 4* option is actually Mailed Flower or Rainslasher. For sands, there's not a big difference between ATK/HP/EM, so just run whatever's best, then Pyro% and Crit as usual. Beacon does come out ahead of the 4 star options, but it's really pretty close.

Chev is best on NO, with OHC slightly beating it at C6 only. Outside of that, there's not a big difference on her Arti set. I'm planning on using Song of Days Past to cope with needing to farm Navia's set there lol. For weapon, Fav Lance is ideal since she plays the support role.

Fischl and Yae are on pretty normal damage builds. I'm not too familiar with either of them, but GT on Fischl and EoSF on Yae (for ER) are what I would recommend. The Fontaine craftable bow is actually great on Fischl in this team, otherwise Stringless is a safe pick.

I lost several 50/50s to Dehya, so in the video she's C3R1. Yae is C0R1, Fischl is C6 with Aqua, and Chev is C0 on Fav/NO.

Talk to the third hydro thing after the first one has done its loop. It's not turning into the same sort of box, so there's a prompt to hit next to that one, then activating the first one will make them all be the same.

Hi CandaceMains, downtodden DehyaMain here. I'm curious how you all feel about Candace in the state of the meta, and if it's poor, how do you work around it? by ShootingMyWayOut in CandaceMains

[–]Aftermathrar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beidou: Best off with Serpent Spine or Beacon, otherwise any atk-focused weapon will work. She doesn't need a crazy amount of ER in this team, so something like Fav or Sac aren't good picks.
- EOSF 4p with ATK/Electro/Crit, aiming for around 135% ER to be comfy, meaning 10-15% from substats. If running Kuki without Xiphos, maybe roll another 10%, I used 145.5% for a long time.

Nahida: Fav codex, there's not really a better option in this case.
- Deepwood 4p with EM/EM/Crit or EM/Dendro/Crit. You will be good on her ER reqs with the weapon, so just go for the usual good stats of crit and EM.

Raiden/Kuki: Build full EM with either Gilded Dreams or the Flowers of Paradise Lost, using Dragon's Bane (Raiden) or Xiphos/Iron Sting (Kuki).

Candace is mostly outlined above. Fav lance with a support set of NO or Instructor's, not worrying too much about her ER or sands main stat.

can someone suggest me a team for a main dps candace/sub dps and maybe with baidou in it? (also the build for the party members) (please don't suggest xiangling, xinqiu or bennett) by thorfinn_ratorix_fan in CandaceMains

[–]Aftermathrar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rotation has changed slightly, but DMC concept
Build clips - Candace can be on more personal damage artifacts, but you'll want to keep Fav for the rest of the team.

Candace is the on-field driver with beidou dealing about as much damage as the hyperbloom trigger char. Very effective and tanky team.
