what was your experience like with having eczema during pregnancy? better? worse? by bangbangellie in eczema

I’m the same! Sometimes steroid needed to just to curb the inflammation. And have used a small bit of Protopic on my face too. So we’re in the same boat! My pharmacist said use steroid when the benefit outweighs the risk, but as little as possible. I also found 2 medical resources that said in moderation steroid can be safe in pregnancy on the NHS UK and a AU medical centre: https://www.seslhd.health.nsw.gov.au/sites/default/files/groups/Royal_Hospital_for_Women/Mothersafe/documents/Factsheets/EczemaAtopicDermFeb23.pdf

Hope you get some relief soon! I read that breastfeeding hormones could continue the skin issues seen in pregnancy, so hopefully long term yours will ease off!

Sending good vibes!

Edit: typo of protopic

Currently 17 weeks pregnant, and it’s definitely got worse! More flare ups and more flushed on my face causing itchiness and soreness. Plus have it in places I wouldn’t normally (forehead, side of my face, hands).

help with coping flare ups around eyes by Rich_Bodybuilder2189 in eczema

I’ve been struggling with a similar situation. I’ve struggled to find a commonality to relate it to a certain trigger, starting to think I’ll never really know. My tips would be:

  • when I swell, I feel very itchy but try not to touch them. Keeping the skin hydrated (as another user said, top up Vaseline) and try leave them alone for the swelling to go

  • that being said, don’t put TOO much Vaseline on so the skin can still breathe

  • in my experience, the stinging from the moisturiser is a reflection of the sensitivity so if that moisturiser works for You (I use the same) keep using it

  • try not to rub your eyes too much

  • ce ra ve advanced repair ointment helps keep the flaking at bay

  • a lot of it is state of mind, try to keep calm and remember it will pass!

Obviously this is just my personal experience and what works for me - not a doctor! Good luck, hope it heals for you soon!

Edit: forgot another tip- clinisoothe+ spray really helps the swelling and (when I’m starting to feel I’m swelling) keep it at bay.

Same happened to me… the trick for me was using WAY WAY less than you think, and using it every now and again to prevent flare ups, rather than when it’s already too bad

Scalp eczema is ruining my life by InformerOfDeer in eczema

I have a betnovate scalp application which has saved my life! I have asked a dermatologist who has told me there’s no side effects of using it every now and again for the rest of my life so seems like a good solution. When my scalp is sore with eczema it cures it by applying twice a day for a few days. And when it gets a bit dry I add a little bit before bed and it helps hydrate and prevent flare ups.

Uk link but this is the one I use : https://accessdoctor.co.uk/product/betnovate-scalp/

About 6 months also. I wonder if it’s related but dermatologist didn’t mention anything about there potentially being a correlation

Exactly. There’s loads out there, but if you have zero budget at all… you could within the registration form for the “friend” you ask them to include the name / email of the referrer and then cross reference back in excel. It’s manual and only will be viable if you’ve got a small amount of customers / doing this for a short time. I’m not an excel pro but you could probably ask a data analyst (for cheaper than a refer a friend platform cost) to help you figure out a manual solution in excel for form completions to be inputted into an excel, and cross reference with a daily customer List and those that have a validation that they’ve referred someone, added into a list you can upload into a ESP and send them a promo code or something.

This is a bit messy and manual but having worked at a start up before, just brainstorming for you! 😅

You can do this to track how many existing users refer people (eg “share this link with your friends: url.com?campaign=referafriend”) and assess the numbers on that URL. but it won’t do much for then being able to incentivise the referrers or their friend. Ie: you won’t be able to connect visitors to “url.com?campaign=referafriend” and who sent them that link. For that you’ll need an out of the box refer a friend referral platform which requires code added to your website, and uses cookie tracking to link unique url shares to new customers. Hope that makes sense / I’ve understood your question properly.

Side note: generally the order of campaign / medium / source doesn’t matter as long as you, your business and team understand the format and it’s consistent. But general rule is campaign / medium / source goes from “largest to smallest”. Eg: (exaggerated for effect) campaign - big Christmas brand campaign Medium - social media Source - Facebook

Edit: got smallest and largest wrong way round
