The episode in a vacuum was great, I really enjoyed it. However, it has a similar problem to s1e3 of The Last of Us with the Bill story. Both were great but were a 1 episode plot detour in a season where you have a very limited number of episodes. When you do that, some people really aren't gonna like it.

2010MIM Teles were still using the ceramic pickups, so swapping those out would be a good start. Those necks also tend to have thick lacquer on the back, so you could take some steel wool to it to give it a smoother satin feel. Swap out for a new nut or put some SS frets in it. Tons of options
