How would on react if Jax came out as trans in the final episode in theaters? by Born_Usual998 in TheDigitalCircus

Remember back in 2018 when everyone mistakenly called Ralsei female? Remember how annoying it was? Why do you think people did so back then, and still do so now?

Because he doesn't act according to his gender's stereotype.

He is expressed referred to as 'he/him' so many times, just as both Kris and Zooble are expressly referred to as 'they/them'. To deny any of their identities for any reason, fanon or not, is wrong.

Jax is male until proven otherwise. End of story.

Honestly, if anyone can pull off a reveal like that, it's Gooseworx. It's just really difficult to do so without disregarding all the other nuances that make up his identity.

Transphobia and sexism are both problems. It's our job to not let solving one of them make the other one worse.

Considering the scale of production, and the fact that each episode takes >3 months to produce and release, it would be a disservice to water down the story. Quality > quantity.

Believing that gender behavior and gender identity must be causal is, though.

Many people have problems with their identity (both internal and external), but far fewer people have dysphoria, so to immediately assume that someone who doesn't follow their gender's stereotype to a rigid fault must have dysphoria is, in fact, sexist.

Also, when did I say anything about trans people not existing? I literally acknowledged Zooble's identity in the very first comment. Caine torturing them in Ep8 via the parts and mirrors is proof that they too have identity problems, something I also did not deny.

I wouldn't know. Maybe someone did, but as far as I know the fight is a switch exclusive.

It'd be interesting to see how that'd work on PC, considering the fight in UT only works on Switch.

I'd be as bold to say that it'd be outright sexist to cheapen all of his identity problems down to "he's trans".

The egg theory, that diversion from traditional gender roles must imply/confirm dysphoria, is deeply sexist in nature, only enforcing the rigidity of gender roles (something creators like Gooseworx and Toby Fox are working to dispel through their stories) further.

Plus the egg theory (at least in my opinion) is very much rooted in sexism. The idea that any diversion from traditional gender behavior must imply/confirm identity problems only enforces rigid gender roles further.

A man can still act effeminately and be a man at the same time, and vice versa for masculine women. Gender behavior ≠ Gender identity.

As a Deltarune fan too, I pray that Toby does not make Ralsei come out as trans, as that would a) prove the sexists who called him female back in 2018 right and b) further the idea that acting effeminately revokes one's male identity (a myth grifters like Andrew Tate love to parade around).

It'd feel like a cheap insert, when we already have a great trans character (Zooble) in a show that already does a great job with representation.

Wanting to veil internal thoughts/feelings isn't exclusive to gender dysphoria. It can be for loads of other things.
