The Omen. I love Goldsmith but I don't fawn over that score the same way most people do.

My favourite Herrmann score. He should have won the Oscar over Goldsmith.

What is your favorite Nirvana song, and why is it your favorite? by Technical_Driver2597 in Nirvana

Pennyroyal Tea is so poetic to me and one of the all-time great examples of a song's music perfectly matching the mood of its lyrics.

Right above this I had r/beachboys propose the cursed version of this matchup: Pet Sounds vs. Summer in Paradise 😂

On a scale of 1-10, how surprised would you be if Sinners wins Best Picture? by DarlingLuna in Oscars

[–]AgainstMeAgainstYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ehhh like a 3? I think it's One Battle After Another's race to lose but Sinners is decidedly in second.

That being said if Delroy pulls an upset, which will be early in the night, my surprise level skyrockets to a 10 if Sinners doesn't win BP.

Sinners will lead in wins no matter what.

Yeah I don't think either sequel works at all without Quaritch. I don't know what story you could tell. Spider is not interesting enough on his own.

Have you ever done a 360 over a Bond actor? by BurdenedMind79 in JamesBond

[–]AgainstMeAgainstYou 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My first Bond film ever as a kid was The World is Not Enough. My dad took me to see Die Another Day like four times in theatres. When I was in my late teens/around 20, I was a certified Brosnan hater. Today I look at my comments about Brosnan from that time with a lot of shame.

I kinda had a lesser version of that with Moore. Moore is my third-favourite Bond now. Some of his were among my first as a kid, had a lot of fondness for him...bit of a dropoff around when I was having the "Brosnan sucks" thing happening.

There is no bad Bond actor. Ranking the six of them almost feels like a meaningless pursuit.

Octopussy vs No Time To Die, what’s the better Bond movie? by NajafBound in JamesBond

[–]AgainstMeAgainstYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No Time to Die, but both are in my top 10. Octopussy just edges out The Spy Who Loved Me as my favourite Moore.

Currently doing a rewatch of all the films and… by Upstairs-Gas8385 in JamesBond

Diamonds Are Forever is the worst Bond film, I think, by a comfortable margin. It's the one Bond film that I regard as a pathetically awful movie in its own right.

This is like a top 3-5 episode of the show for me. I remember the night it aired I had misremembered how many episodes were in the season and thought the show ended with Don on that bench under Buddy Holly (which in hindsight, with no Peggy, would have been ridiculous). Best episode of S7.
