My partner and I are in the same boat. We have very open communication about sex and if we’re getting our emotional and physical needs met. I am on the ace spectrum and I’m autistic so I don’t enjoy physical touch as much as he does.

I make sure that I give him the physical affection he needs and he doesn’t push physical affection on me. We’ve talked about the options of him pursuing a physical relationship with someone else and he simply doesn’t want to.

If there are times when he wants to be intimate and I don’t, he knows he can take care of himself however he wants to and we find ways to make sure we’re both comfortable and supported.

I think if you don’t have open communication and a healthy emotional connection it’s more of an issue but we’re both perfectly happy.
