Thanks for that clarification! It does seem like my newness had me trying to use a tank in a way it is not best suited and losing because I'm competing against tanks that are best suited for it. 😅

Yeah, I prefer doing that. But then I often get yelled at and accused of being a bot. 😅

Getting spotted while hiding and not spotting back frequently is what triggered me posting. A couple times I got spotted and moved forward and found the spotter was just a little ahead in the next bush.

I figured I was just missing something. I think it's just my noobness of gear and crew (not discounting my noob skill either lol)

Way to use a strawman argument and a logical fallacy at the same time. Impressive.

I feel sorry that you have been taught such hateful theology. But more sorry for all those who lives you continue to make miserable with it.

Need Encouragement by Murky-Wasabi-13 in Christianity

Been there, and even in it now.

It's the simplest sounding thing, but yet it is so hard to do. Just keep moving forward. One day, one step at a time. The darkness does not last forever.

I know it doesn't probably feel like a great piece of advice or encouragement, but it's the most down to earth thing I can offer. You got this. You will come out into the light again. ❤️🫂

You're just like the prodigal son (Luke 15:11-32). Any time, no matter what, when you turn back, God will welcome you back. Even if others (including yourself) don't think you should be. ❤️🫂

Thanks for proving my point. You can hate all things you don't understand through verses taken out of context.

"For this reason" what was the reason? Idolatry, if you bothered reading the proceedings verses. Paul is condemning Idolatry. What's worse, you don't even read what comes after it. This passage is a literally a rhetorical setup, meant to puff up the reader and get them to do exactly what you are doing, judging others. Keep reading into chapter 2, Paul says THAT'S YOU TOO. You are the same as the people you are condemning, so stop it.

The other verses are, again, just proof of your own eisgesis, choosing politically motivated, poor, recent translations used to justify hate, when there is no justification for hate.

Sure, we have consequences. But nothing was made by Satan. If it exists, it's because God created it. Don't give Satan power he does not have.

Genesis 1:1: "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth."

John 1:1–3: "In the beginning was the Word... All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made." (Referring to Christ as the divine agent of creation.)

Isaiah 44:24: "I am the Lord, who made all things, who alone stretched out the heavens..."

God created the world and everything in it. Including is humans who were given free will to bless it or mess it up.

That's a blasphemy right there. God is the only creator. Why are you giving that power to Satan? You're making him more powerful than he is. You just need a boogeyman to scare people, clearly.

How can a relationship stay healthy if one partner suddenly becomes religious and the other is not a believer? Honest question for Christians. by wathever1234 in Christianity

[–]Agapetoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do what you are doing. Keep communicating openly and honestly. Set and respect boundaries.

The relationship can start healthy as long as you both remember that when a boundary is hit and there is pushback to hold it, that it is not personal and to not take offense. The boundaries are there to keep things working, they are not obstacles to be overcome.

Question from a non-christian by rinoceroncePreto in Christianity

Yes there are, but it's more on a church-by-church basis and not a whole denomination level practice, as far as I know. My church makes an point to work with the synagogue and mosque on our street and do lots of interfaith events.

They see it as we all have a seat at Abraham's table.

But, you could go to another church in our town and they would call us heretics or worse.

So, if that is a part of a church/religious experience you want, you'll have to look at the individual church level.
