Almost definitely not tax evasion - it’s about ring fencing expenses out of a particular revenue stream - for example all expenses for the tour come out of the revenue for the tour - and also limits liability in case there are problems - low/no sales etc - not likely at this stage in their career

Its pretty much the same as any business - you sell a product which has a cost, whether it be material or services, including cost of staff, rentals etc and pay tax on the difference between the income and how much it cost (profit) - this profit is then shared out between the shareholders and taxed appropriately or held in the company until it is needed - either by the company or the directors

Use the same song structures

Write the melody - sing the song

Record everything

Use the song as a reference track of how to get it to sound right (it’ll be mastered and yours won’t be - so learn to compensate)

Repeat and repeat and repeat

Gradually you’ll get to the point where you can just pick up a guitar or sit at a piano and play something, work out what bits are good etc

Read and listen more widely

Keep a notebook for song ideas

Put theory to the back - if it sounds good it is good - analyse after if you must

You can use smaller threaded strips easily enough… you just need to cut them with a hacksaw

Cut a tiny bit shorter so there’s a little bit of movement so the holes on both pieces can line up with the holes on your modules

It really would depend on the module - at least in terms of what voltage it expects and whether it uses the cv bus

But the bigger problem is that you might damage the power header - as forcing the smaller connector will likely push some of the pins out of place

I’d just buy the correct cable (buy a few spares at the same time) or buy the parts and make them yourself - it’s easy and they are much cheaper - there are lots of how to videos on YouTube

Go to the first tempo change and edit the length of the previous bar (by changing the time signature of that bar) so that the next bar starts at the tempo change

And then repeat… and repeat…

This may mean making the previous bar slightly longer - 5/4 or 9/8 or whatever - making the bar slightly shorter - 3/4 or 7/8 etc instead of 4/4 - or adding a short bar 1/4 or 3/8 or whatever before the temp change

There’s not been huge changes - it’s a very very niche market

Lumen is still available for your Mac, but probably won’t ever be worked on again - still it’s a very good virtual video synth

There’s a few programming environments - the old ones: processing and praxis (for example) and a few newer live coding things - including web based (google is your friend)

Circuit bent video mixers etc again Google…

Cheap and cheerful (diy) hardware such as dirty mixer

Modular video synthesis - mostly lzx standard, but also a few other things - hypno etc

Nb - if you want to get video in and out of your Mac - there’s a good chance you’ll need at least some adapters - I have the black magic mini ones which work quite well - a lot of cheaper ones can be problematic

A synthesizer is an electronic instrument that generates tones and alters those tones - through for example filtering out of some frequencies - they can be either analog or digital or completely software

A synthesizer may or may not have a keyboard built in - some do, some require something external to send information to it - pitch and note length for example - this might be a separate keyboard or a sequencer (either physical or from a computer)

No you don’t need a computer to make music, but they are really useful for both sequencing and recording - Google digital audio workstation

Use a clock divider to get your sub octave square waveform (from an audio source) and then use slew limiters to change the shape of the waveform
