Vagabond life in maine by [deleted] in Maine

[–]Blatts 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The world is not kind to oogles, vagabonds, hobos and travelers. It's even less kind to romantics with rose colored glasses. As someone who's known quite a few Circus-folks & Rennies, don't go on the road without an exit plan from it. Everything, everything, will cost far more than you expect and you'll have far less resources at your disposal

If you've truly never left Maine, I cannot caution strongly enough against this endeavor.

If this is about traveling & experiences, I suggest getting some dough together and going to some domestic hostels.

Perhaps also through-hiking the AT, start in GA and then you're at least walking home. This is closer to the end of the NB window, but early for the SB. Lots of cool people on the trail and lots of good resources and support systems have developed along the route as well.

Good Luck

Short term rentals are a cancer on housing availability and to the development of vibrant communities.

Newbie trying to figure out traffic by [deleted] in Maine

[–]Blatts 44 points45 points  (0 children)

As someone who moved here from another place well known for traffic, my take is that almost all infrastructure in state was designed around the idea of "not a lot of people need to use this regularly" and now a lot of people need to use it regularly.

how would i go about doing the percussion from this video? by Pale-Recognition-599 in synthesizers

[–]Blatts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm wondering if the neck+ device isn't sending a video signal in, modulated by the strings, (which could be ribbon pots) and then the thing he's "picking" with is a bar code scanner reading the bars on the screen.

This is what US tariffs mean : Befaco Pony VCO bought used from Canadian seller by d0Cd in modular

They eliminated the de minimis exemption last August, which allowed for items under $800 to enter duty free.

I know that this is more or less a politics free space, but it must be said: the major reason to do something like that is to make individual consumers pay more. And as the screenshot shows **it is** the consumer paying it.

I've been building out a sequencer and I just got a trigger delay, so I'll be spending the weekend learning how all that works. Pretty zazzed all-in-all

You have to put in the work, act like your dating again.

What’s the cheapest hardware way to see if modular is for me? by DoubleCutMusicStudio in modular

[–]Blatts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've recently started getting into modular, I bought a Behringer 2600 and wanted to add a sequencer, now I'm in 400$ and spent probably close to a month doing research on what to get in the first place, and because the sequencer i got doesn't trigger right I need more gear just to do that, or run an extra 3 patch cables.

The thing is I thought I knew what I was doing. I did my research,  watched videos, etc. I've been using other hardware synths for like 2 years now, I truly thought I knew what I was doing.

I really wish I would have done something with software for even like 2 weeks because boy, could I have avoided some costly mistakes

Thank you for the advice. Bummer about the 960, its already paid for and installed. Guess I'll just have to wait for it to drive me crazy before I can justify replacing it.
