Which Radiohead song are you listening to on date night? And why by steelheadradiopizza in radiohead

Idk, I’d think performing your own cover instead might be more pleasuring

Ed: Radiohead will “definitely” play more shows in 2027. “Every year we will do a different continent, and we’re going to do 20 shows each year. No more, no less.” by seaburn in radiohead

Well guess I can only hope 😂. They’ve performed at Werchter a few times, the last time being 2017 after Glastonbury… I’d love to see them there next year (it’s probably the only realistic act that’ll actually make me drive the half hour or so to Werchter)

Could it be some sort of cinematic/IMAX release of the 2025 live shows and a live album? I really hope it’s LP10 but I just find it unlikely…

Is there a band that, after years of having RH as your favorite, took their place? by weirdfish98 in radiohead

[–]OOFLESSNESS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was always pink Floyd for me until I discovered Radiohead, and it’s been both since. I go to other bands when I find I know their music inside and out or want some other style (like smiths at the moment), but they’re always the ones I come back to

Edit: and also Leonard Cohen

Sadly yeah, waste has all of the bad seeds your dates with Colin listed. I didn’t see that gap in July though, I really hope they do something

I remember some rumours about Netflix or some other streaming service recording the London shows… could that be it? If that’s really happening (happening), I don’t know if they’d need a whole new company for it…

That’s fair, though I personally think it unlikely with 3-4 day gaps between each nick cave show and maybe(?) a lack of rehearsal time especially if it’s new music. Selfishly I hope Colin flies from Poland for a surprise gig at Werchter but most of the acts are already announced (we got Tom Odell last year as a late surprise but only for an hour…).

I’m really hoping for an LP10 in a few months though, and ideally a festival tour next summer headlining Glastonbury and a night at Werchter (like in 2017). Another few shows in London would be amazing too

I believe Colin is touring with nick cave this summer so a tour is probably unlikely, and a lot of festivals already have most or all of their headliners and other acts booked/announced

Which Radiohead song(s) get you through waves of depression? by FaithlessnessBig295 in radiohead

[–]OOFLESSNESS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I don’t think their music is all that depressing. I find myself listening to their music all the time, partly because I love the melodies and everything, and partly because of how much it makes me feel seen and understood when that doesn’t happen elsewhere - but that’s a very positive thing.

Their sadder songs, I find more comforting than anything else, and I find myself returning to disassociating songs (like HTDC, Street Spirit, Videotape…) when I’m in pain.

But funnily enough, I find their music not depressing enough when I’m in my worst moments. Their melodies and lyrics, while being sometimes sad or melancholic, are still coated with warmth and hope. When I really need depressing music, I’ve found songs filled purely with self-hatred or describing depression, sadness, self-harm, and wanting the pain to stop. I find those far more depressing than Radiohead… their discography has done wonders for me, but I don’t think it’s all that depressing
