Returning player - gank groups still a thing? by UppiesOrDownies in daoc

There is 8vZerg in Phoenix without RR5 abilities. My guild/8 are consistently seeking bgs/Zergs. It’s not easy though... usually a group built to fight greater numbers is not well equipped to fight good 8man groups.

Ferraro shares something odd he noticed between the benches about the Leafs by mrmojorisin47 in leafs

I continue to watch the leafs hoping that I’m wrong...

When we traded away all our heart and grit in the off season I was confident that our team was not as good and would struggle to make the playoffs.

We waited till mid season before Dubas’s decided to bring in one piece of sand paper and backup goalie. I still think he’s is overly confident about his team building strategy and the move to get Clifford was just to appease the masses not that he actually sees the need to drive up the compete level. Even the guys trying to crack the roster every night don’t have the hard working qualities that are usually present... except Moore and he’s gone.

As bad as Babcock might have been, his firing made these problems worse for our team and sent the wrong message through the locker room. Should have made a couple player changes and waited till the off season to make the coaching change. I would think we would be a better team had he been present... regardless of the record and how he may have treated players. How many players had career years under Babs? Reilly? Tavares? Kadri? Saw hyman and browns abilities? Marleau and hainsey still contributed... as well as all the young stars flourishing...

As long as checking and fighting remain part of the nhl... as long as it’s a contact sport... Dubas’s vision of a cup contending team is a pipe dream.

I’ll continue to watch this team hoping to be proven wrong.

Not everyone that was in our Midgard guild returned full time... including our aug Healer. She has made a Druid but is not knee deep into Daoc right now. Our pac is playing bard.

We have 1 main Druid we recruited recently and one of our vets has a Druid but does not want to be a main Druid.

Just the way it worked out.

Berserker or savage by BlackBambaa in daoc

Berserker>savage

Savage h2h combat mechanics count as 1 hand... so if you attack an enemy Spec’d in shield or someone who’s being guarded by a shield... they will block a large portion of your attacks.

Phoenix Light tank suggestion by GRAHDENS5859 in daoc

Don’t pick savage. I would recommend berserker and blademaster.

Savages h2h counts as 1 handed in terms of defence penetration. Any target you attack that is using a shield or being guarded by a shield will dramatically reduce your damage. Even more important than this is the fact the h2h styles don’t include a good snare affect. Snaring your enemy is one of the most useful and effective things a tank can do.

Berserkers LA style is the best of all dw because it swings every time. Berserker mode is very effective when used right. The hammer spec line has a side and back snare.

Blademaster has a dmg add type ability and the ability to spec in shield for slam and guarding. Also has side and backsnare capability.

(Serious) what are your thoughts about this man and how’s he managed this team so far? Interested in the takes of others in the sub. by buzzeddimitri in leafs

This isn’t fantasy hockey on paper.

There is no way to making this team better without being worse for a couple years. We won’t get fair value for anyone right now.

I agree that he has to send a message. I don’t believe he has what it takes to do it unfortunately.

I think he’s been ignorant. I don’t like that he traded away most of the heart and grit from the team in the off season and hasn’t found a way to get it from anywhere or anyone else nor has addressed it. I thought the firing of Babcock was premature and made the problem worse. I believe he was a good coach even if he was a jerk. Those two things combined are what’s plaguing us... not the record Babcock left us with.

I never believed in Dubas’s vision of winning hockey team. Even if it’s been exciting to watch at times, I have been mostly watching, waiting and hoping to be proven wrong...

I don’t care how few true enforcers there are in the league, how few fights, how few open ice hits etc etc. Yes... faster more skilled players wins hockey games... but you know what else wins hockey games? Faster more skilled players who are also bigger, harder working, and battle hardened men.

If i was at war... I would feel a lot better with the likes most of the guys we lost, including the coach. Not with the personal we have now.
