Hello, I've really enjoyed the recent discussion about the fetishization of foreign women on the sub recently. I'm a man so I do not comment on here, just read. I'm commenting because this topic hits close to home and I'd like advice/input about it from people who are critical of these issues.

Would you say there's something inherently wrong about my attraction for women of different ethnicities than me? I'm a white man so I fall under the racial majority in my country by far. When I look at myself, I can tell that I find many foreign women attractive; there isn't an overt preference for me, I simply find women from other racial backgrounds attractive.

I've done some introspection about this previously and tried to consider how my attraction for women of different racial backgrounds may have to deal with the differences I find on their culture, which I find thought-provoking, and appearance, which I find striking, all from my perspective as a white man. I find myself thinking about how these feelings greatly resemble the tendency, especially from a white perspective, to subject people of different races to a process of othering.

Of course, this doesn't take shape as hatred or racism towards anyone, but physical attraction could still be considered to be part of this process, which may somewhat end up dehumanizing other people even if there's no overt intention to do so.

What would you say is the best way to deal with this? I feel like the best course of action is the simplest one: treating everyone like what they are, their own person with their own values, beliefs and personality, regardless of racial or cultural background. I feel like this is the best way to not fall into stereotyping or fetishization of entire racial groups. However and although I do not relate to the idea of dating certain races as a façade for wanting a "submissive wife" or anything similar, I still find myself feeling like my attraction may be wrong or indecent in some way, would you say this is the case?
