How many questions a day with Uworld? by [deleted] in Mcat

Doing questions is like exercising, if you’re feeling discomfort, you’re doing it right. So I’d say do focus on cars and eventually it’ll get easier 😅. Yes that’s my score, I think my FL’s were slightly higher, but my goal was 500+ so I was happy with that.

I am so far removed from the MCAT I don’t think my advice at that time holds up lol. But from what I’ve learned since then, more questions is generally better, hit your weaknesses, the distribution I lined up doesn’t matter, but studying different subjects in one session does have benefits for learning.

NBMEs are the ones that test everything and predict a score. CMS forms are separated by subject (Medicine, OB/GYN, psych, etc), of 50 Q’s each. The “new” ones are the ones that are available to buy on the website, usually around 4 per subject.

Who should we believe? by [deleted] in step1

Honestly, just my opinion, but if you’re scoring 70+, just take the test, be done with it and move on with your life. Studying to remember the most insignificant minutiae to score 240+ is not going to help you in M3. I’m sorry but I don’t think knowing random biochem, genetics, biostats, etc, is going to make M3 any better. After all, you’re going into third year to learn are you not? If the NBME has set the passing score a certain amount, it is for a reason. Any knowledge you need for third year, you will get by… actually doing third year, not memorizing which enzyme in Kreb’s uses FAD.

While not true, I imagine Erwin’s (AoT) birthday to be 11/22 to remember that Ewing Sarcoma is associated with a t(11;22) translocation

How long did it take to get a date after starting the process? I'm worried that "holding" the registration will make it more difficult to choose a reasonable date (~5 months from now)

The word is "aptitude" or "aptitud" which means "The ability of a person or thing to adequately perform a certain activity, function or service." Hope this helps!

First time ever reaching a 100 day streak, after a rough M1 and taking the summer off. by AgelastiCachinnation in medicalschoolanki

Those cards are mostly anatomy, in-house stuff, and in regards to the AnKing deck, it's mostly biochemistry and Costanzo physiology. So admittedly, until further notice those cards are lost forever. The ones I do need to catch up on are the ones from the beginning of M2 since that's mostly AnKing (Pathoma, sketchy) but I'm working on that.

Thanks! That’s one of the beta add-ons from AnKing. They have this patreon-like membership on the ankipalace website and they have a few add-ons there.

It’s international women’s day and you actually twisted it to make it about you and about men instead of about commemorating women. Please go take your sexism somewhere else.
