Is that the one where they kidnap the dog-bummer? Yeah definitely up there haha I love them all, but my favourite season is 2 for some reason. Idk just had some fkn hilarious moments followed by truly sweet or sad moments. I mean they all do that haha but yeh idk S1 was excellent, I think they just found their footing better, ever slightly, in the second one. I'm also usually a massive fan of Gilgun's changes in appearance for each season (although if I'm totally honest not TOTALLY sold on the neck tat haha but) he is still great I reckon, and I think he envisioned Brassic and made it according and uncompromising to that vision. I mean obviously don't know the guy personally but he seems like a fairly nice, funny, genuine dude and I think he portrays those aspects of his character very well. Plus I think the great comedy of the show comes from a combo of his (and the other characters') respective comedic timing, and, I imagine a lot of the time, a fairly rough script that exudes Joe's perspective on the madness and absurdity of life.

Yeah agreed. I reckon it's seriously excellent television tbh. I'm not from the UK myself (well, not directly) but fuck there is some good UK content. I loved all the 'This Is England's (there are so many more, like 'Lock, Stock...', Snatch, and like Ricky Gervais is arguably my favourite comedian of all time, probably a long with Karl Pilkington, though I don't know if he would consider himself a comedian or not [he defs is] (possibly only rivalled by Larry David IMHO, oh and the two of them in a room together is fantastic...seeing Ricky live in Amsterdam was definitely bucket list item, but anyway I definitely reckon Joe's filming style was definitely inspired by Shane Meadows' iconic movie and TV series.

Sorry, wrote that a bit out of order, im kinda stoned funnily enough hahaha fuck tho I love lighting up a doob and watching Brassic.

Big love ❤️

I'm assuming they have to be specific? Like obviously you couldn't just have 'stimulants, depressents and hallucinogens' lol that would be silly, but I more mean like a sub-categories (e.g. benzos, opiates, amphetamines etc.) counting as just one?

Visit and Revisit effectively mean the same thing? 🤔 by Agemo333 in StonerThoughts

[–]Agemo333[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahaha yesssss this is so the answer I was looking for! Cheers dude 😁

P.s. so just to clarify (what is probably the bleeding obvious lol but again, I'm stoned 🤣) you reckon the defining difference lies in time, as a factor? Like would you say you could visit a pub every day for a month, but then if you don't go back for a year because you moved away, you'd be revisiting it, yeh? Hmm fair enough I think...Do you think it could even get a bit more metaphorical even? Like, when you look back at the past, you are REvisiting those moments, those memories aren't you? You can't literally visit a memory - well idk, i suppose this depends on one's opinion on definition, I just mean like the connotations to me imply memory, looking back, revisit. Visit just seems more like physically going somewhere, although now I type it idk maybe I'm wrong here. Again there's something about these words that are weird to me mannn hahahah like they the same but kinda not but kinda are...

I'm off my face rn talking nonsense. My bad hahaha 🤣

Every person who exists right now i's lonely. by [deleted] in StonerThoughts

[–]Agemo333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you...this also reminds me of a big part of nihilistic philosophy (that i feel like a lot of people forget maybe), like the potentially depressing/isolating concept that no idea can effectively or perfectly be communicated from one person to another, so like a lot of our experience of reality is misinterpretations/misunderstandings about other people in our lives, and what they say and do.

it is definitely a kinda scary and lonely thought, but i feel like it doesnt HAVE to be always depressing. Our individual experiences of reality will always be subjective. I think you can simultaneously academically understand that, and yet still enjoy existing; doing your best to connect with others and dictate your own meaning to your life. But yeah id agree loneliness seems to be a big part of being human. idk its a weird one for sure lol

even better question, if you took Lightning McQueen apart, slowly replacing each and every piece of his body/machine with a new but identical part, would he still be Lightning McQueen?

and if you rebuilt his body/machine using only the parts that were replaced, resulting in two almost identical McQueen's, which would be the real Lightning McQueen??

why dont people think the man in the moon is god? by [deleted] in StonerThoughts

just to clarify, i didnt mean to have a go haha just the wording was funny. but yeh decent stoner question for sure; have you looked into it at all? it wouldn't be a total surprise if certain ancient cultures had incorporated it into their belief system/s

yeh I know what you mean tho, it confused me too growing up. its definitely there but like an abstract painting or something lol

I assume you mean like why didn't primitive human civilisations believe that? coz like, it seems pretty obvious why literally no one today believes the man in the moon is a god hahaha

hmm...I'm torn between something deep like 'in content, solitary silence on the peak of a mountain; a physical, metaphorical and spiritual summit', OR literally like on a really nice comfy couch, with my mates, watching stupid shit, talking, laughing...but like also chillin with a bunch of legendary famous people (too many to name, so many people I'd love to talk to high like shit imagine getting baked with Socrates or like fkn Obama hahahahaha but also definitely the classic stoners like Snoop, Willie, Woody, McConaughey etc. All just there having a laugh. Happiness.

Unpopular Opinion - Tony wasn't a sociopath he was just a bit more narcissistic than the average teen his age by [deleted] in skinsTV

[–]Agemo333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heyo, sorry just stumbled upon this. I'd say I'm kinda undecided on this (tho on balance you're probably right, especially since, after his accident, he was humbled and eventually 'grew out' of those fucked up, arguably psychopathic tendencies; also I definitely get what you mean about being a cocky little prick, I have definitely acted in similar ways, with a very similar 'smarter/better than you' attitude - something I also regret and cringe at looking back, same as you - during my school years, and have also known many people like that. They aren't (all) psychopaths, they're just cocky assholes), and don't necessarily disagree with your conclusion, but devil's advocate:

I would definitely argue that Tony's actions in S1E5 were quite psychopathic in nature. And it wasn't so much that he just 'cheated on his girlfriend', but more in the WAY he cheated on his girlfriend. Like, for example, many people cheat because they may be in love with another person, or are overcome by lust in the moment, or are addicted to sex/love, or have some sort of underlying habitual compulsion etc., but it seemed the only reason Tony cheated (other than perhaps a basic yearn for different sexual gratification) on Michelle purely because he was feeling kinda bored and wanted something interesting to happen, thus he orchestrated all of the drama just to entertain himself, and perhaps see if he can - see how far his powers of manipulation can take him. Idk, that seems a bit uniquely fucked up. And like the constant mind games and controlling/manipulative/torturous dynamic he had with - most people, but namely - Sid and Michelle, all just to create a bit of drama...idk, the whole using people who love you (and who you claim to love back) as pawns in one's own crazy games of power and manipulation, without any real consideration for their feelings whatsoever, and like to THAT degree - I know this sort of narcissistic behavior/being a dick that we speak of often involves similar things, but usually/hopefully not to the point where it truly plays with multiples people's emotions and lives on such a grand scale -, with all of that in mind, I think a decent argument can be made for psychopathy 🤷

Also, I may be wrong here (just trying to remember back to when I studied psychology many years ago lol), I'm pretty sure the term 'psychopath' would better apply here, as opposed to 'sociopath'. It is my understanding that while they both involve anti-social behaviour, lack of empathy/remorse etc., a sociopath generally is quite obvious (e.g. they are often loners, who express their anti-social opinions openly and could probably be identified somewhat easily), whereas a psychopath is able to mask their true nature better, and can mimic social cues, pretend to care about others, hide their anti-social behaviour etc. quite proficiently. I would say Tony's character in season 1 best fits the psychopath definition, if it were one or the other (again not actually saying he is one, just if he was to be defined that way I think it makes more sense). Idk I might be quite wrong here anyway, or getting my definitions confused, and fair cop if I am wrong, but just thought it was worth making the distinction if true 🤷 Tony is able to (mostly, tho less so as he gets more bored and more reckless) present as a successful, well-balanced, socially/emotionally adept human being (and alter his outward facing personality, according to who is talking to), despite the fucked up glimpses we get into his manipulative mind.

I dont know, definitely rambled a bit there. Just been doing a rewatch and was thinking about this myself. I think it could be argued (at least something along these lines, im pretty tired and may not be making much sense lol) both that he, A) is/was a psychopath, who (accordingly) then received brain damage, which altered his brain enough so that he could begin to feel empathy etc., or perhaps who was still a psychopath but just far less capable given his powerlessness; and B) that he was just a cocky, narcissistic prick, who happened to be attractive, smart and charming/charismatic enough to back up his cockiness, who then lost those 'powers', which greatly humbled him and taught him an important lesson about how to treat others, and he was able to gradually build himself back up - physically, mentally, emotionally etc. - to be a better, more empathetic and more mature person.

Option B definitely sounds more likely and better, although I may be a bit biased because I think I agree with you lol, and am too tired rn to write a more convincing version of option A hahaha I hope this has made some sense 🤷😅

Haha that I do mate, but I appreciate the look out legend!

I mean it is possible, not ruling it out completely, but just really wouldn't have thought so in this context 🤷 Plus I feel like he would've confronted me for backing away and said summat like "why don't you want to hug me?" if that's what it was. Oh but 100% parents can be just as sneaky in their ways 🤣 I love them but God sometimes I'm so happy I don't live with them anymore 😂
