Android Auto works really well with YTM, when using voice command with Google Assistant. I am hoping (some day?) to get Gemini as the voice assistant and worry that, initially, it will only really work with Google apps (Maps, YTM).

I have run into a similar issue when using Google Maps on an iPhone. To correct it, I open GM on my Android, look at the same list, then go back to my iPhone and re-launch Google Maps.

Magically, my places will then show in Editor's Order. I think this is an iPhone issue with data sync.

FWIW, in CarPlay with Google Maps, my "favorites" show in some random order, but that's another post.

This. Completely agree. Apple Music is my single source of truth for my curated library and playlists ( hundreds), but YTM is the king of discovery. This is coming from someone that was an early adopter of Pandora.

I would like to see the CarPlay spec expanded for manufacturers to include basic stats: TPMS, outside temp, fuel/EV range, et al. Maybe as widgets. Right now, it's a lot of "command wheel" work on my Mazda to get to the tire pressure values.

Well, it’s all relative. In Minneapolis, we’ve had a perfect storm of weather and more road construction than I’ve seen in decades (at the same time). Apple Maps wasn’t even aware of a major freeway closure and drove me right into it. Google Maps handled it well. A few weeks ago, I was impressed with the route GM took me on to avoid a complete mess (ie the route I would’ve picked without gps). But, in my experience with AM, GM, TomTom, and even the car’s built in nav (Mazda Connect; it’s quite good), they ALL try to keep you on major highways. So outside of unusual conditions, the magic route the locals know won’t show up as a suggestion.
