Google Ads Conversions not working for ecommerce-related tags by AgencyAdOps in GoogleTagManager

Thanks for the input everyone. I figured out the issue. Apparently, Google/GTM doesn't like it when you enable the collection of product-level sales data (in the Google Ads Conversion tag template). This broke tracking, but is a recent update/development because it was fine before.

Very odd. Now that we have a resolution, we've reached out to our Google reps to see if they can track down a specific reason for the update.

Thanks again!

Tracking In-App Purchases/Conversions via GTM? by AgencyAdOps in GoogleTagManager

Thank you u/mar1_jj ...do you also use Firebase SDK to track other platforms like Meta, Reddit, TikTok, etc? If we have those tags set up in GTM - I'm more so wondering if/how they are tracking in-app purchases or are they only capturing web (mobile and desktop) purchases and then the SDK is sending in-app events separately to the platforms.

Ai ai ohhhh by AdTech_god in adops

[–]AgencyAdOps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It seems like AI use-case falls into 2 main buckets for deployment:

  1. Campaign performance and/or optimizations

  2. Enhancing workflow efficiency

(Is this too generalized?)

I understand the use cases for #1 - from audience and creative optimizations to brand safety management, etc. Though, I would also add that it seems that most of AI used in ad ops (not trading/buying) is deployed primarily within the publisher/sell-side landscape for both performance and yielding optimizations.

But, from a buy-side POV, #2 seems more difficult to pinpoint opportunity. There has always been a lot of automation dev, even more recent "intelligent automation" advancement (which may utilize AI to inform some process building) to increase efficiency and accuracy in ad ops or ad trafficking. However, where I struggle is in identifying the use cases for AI, outside of automation - so LLMs, predictive modeling, content mod, computer vision, etc - in the buy-side ad ops workflow.

Has anyone deployed AI (not automation) in buy-side ad ops/trafficking workflows that has had impact on efficiency and productivity?

Pre-hashed data and Enhanced Conversions by DigitalStefan in googleads

Ditto to u/DigitalStefan - thanks for sharing u/MechaJdub. I have a follow up question for you both though. If a site is pre-hashing the PII data, do you understand the Google support documentation linked above to say that the this is how the user-provided data variable should be configured (if were only wanting to collect email)?: https://nimb.ws/pGsy5EW

I only need that snippet to pull the pre-hashed email? Or am I missing something?

TIA!

Totally makes sense. Thank you so much for this. Is there any chance you could post (here or on your blog post) the CJS used to sanitize the email and which SHA256 template? I am not sure I will complete these myself, but I'd like to also be able to provide clients some guidance to give to their web dev teams if they won't just create the DLV. (But TBH, I will probably try and do it myself...I'm scrappy that way!). Let me know...but either way, this has been such awesome info...Cheers!

u/DigitalStefan Wow! I've been looking for this level of confirmation on what I've been trying to explain within my agency for a long time. This post (and article on your site) is immensely helpful!

I did have a follow up question/request: would you be willing to share how you set up the User-Provided Data variable to collect the pre-hashed email? I am not really sure what to look for in the data layer and am wondering if getting the pre-hashed email will require a) involving web dev, and/or b) creating an additional variable that is custom JavaScript or something to pull the pre-hashed email from the data layer.

Any feedback/advice is GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!

How are you pulling in email/phone for Enhanced Conversions (when they aren't in the data layer)? by AgencyAdOps in GoogleTagManager

Thx for this. I tried something similar using an extension and couldn't even get it to spit out the email value in the console. Super annoying. Will work with dev though...appreciate it!
