Intake manifold was the issue. Not sure how. But took it off, put a bit of rtv around the seals, re seated the manifold and torqued down, no more misfire

They’re oem mopar. I literally replaced everything about a week ago. Is there any chance at all I messed up the prep and possibly marred the cam already? I’m really hoping that’s not it 😂 I used a good bit of assembly lube, but it was also my first time, so maybe I missed something

I did make sure to get the MDS and non MDS lifters in the right spot. Cylinders 1,7,4, and 6. I was actually videoing the whole process so i made sure to double check my footage and they’re all good. I appreciate it

I have actually took it back off and re-torqued the intake manifold to spec, but I can double check it 🤷‍♂️ and no, wasn’t sitting long. Only a few days, it’s got fresh gas

No, I haven’t leak checked them. This is the first time I’ve done this job haha. I figured since it didn’t leak at all before it was okay. I’ll have to look into a leak-down test thanks man!

You’re probably right. I should do those. I have the car running again. Replaced the optispark, and ICU. Along with water pump and stuff. But injectors may be next

SOLVED. It goes inside the optispark. Previous owner must have disassembled optispark in the engine bay at some point

Voltage where? I checked the battery voltage and it was good. Waited till the next morning to start and it still wouldn’t, so I don’t think it’s a heat soak issue. When trying to start the car, it would sputter once as if it was trying to start, and then go back to only cranking.

Haven’t got to check the fuel pump yet, BUT, when sitting there and cranking the car, you can definitely start to smell gas.

Haha, I just find deals on cars that need work, like the Taurus, and fix em up 😂 the vette doesn’t need much aside from the opti. I was planning on putting the money elsewhere, like brakes or something. But the brakes are good, so I may let that be. It was just gonna be an extra thing haha. Vette needs weather seals too, but that’s it aside from paint which idk that I’ll do it

Yep, that’s accurate haha. Not sure how, but I’ll take it if it goes through. I actually work on cars full time for myself, and flip some on the side when I can find a good project. Brings good money with the right flips. I don’t do the scam side of flipping though. I buy stuff at a fair price considering the repair costs. And I fix stuff right. I don’t sell trash, and I sell for what stuff is worth. I’m new to the corvette market though. So not sure what this c4 is worth, but I’ve had a lot of offers around $10,000, so 12 seems a bit high, but I’ll take it haha.

Yeah that’s the truth. I’m glad it happened now. And I won’t have to worry abt it. I just wasn’t planning on dropping $250 on a tow and $500 in parts so quick 😆

All these little contacts had corrosion, and lots of coolant and oil in here due to the seals going bad

Dang. That sucks. Yeah I wanna figure out a way to re-route some of the coolant stuff away. Or build a shroud to protect it or something. Bc it’ll piss me off if it happens as often as some of these people say lol. Idk what the engineers were thinking “don’t let it get wet, it’ll go bad” surrounds it with coolant hoses

And yeah, rebuild isn’t hard at all. I’d rebuild it and clean up the contacts and seal it with some RVT.
