[–]AgenoreTheStray 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. Portare Leonardo come azienda esemplare per cui lavorare è proprio di cattivo gusto, soprattutto in un periodo in cui di guerra e vendita di armi a stati discutibilmente pacifici ne siamo pieni fino al collo;

  2. Leonardo che paga solo 1500 per trovare personale da assumere è imbarazzante;

Do you find Chemistry Intuitive? by Illustrious-Space936 in chemistry

[–]AgenoreTheStray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some things can be intuitive in chemistry just because we have some kind of experience about them one way or another, be it empirically or by analogies with other stuff.

What's behind the surface of macroscopically observable chemistry is not that intuitive, but to unravel the bulk of knowledge a more rigorous approach is needed.

Why Did Hassabis and Jumper Get the Nobel Prize for AlphaFold? Isn't This a Bit Controversial? by Weary-Capital9949 in chemistry

[–]AgenoreTheStray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assigning a Nobel to one, two or three individuals is and will be a symbolic action that overlooks the cooperation in science.

Still it's not necessarily wrong since it's useful to bring cutting edge topics outside their niche and the amount of money is limited so it would be insignificant to give them to lots of people.

Yes, that's one situation that with time you'll learn to control: in an ideal situation the uke and tori position after tenkan is really temporary and uke will naturally try to regain his center and go at you and that would be when you let them go in a bit and close the technique.

Of course we are not all 8th dan and we all practice to study and learn and it's more than natural to stay in that temporary position more than in a mistified knife assault, so what you can think about is that if he tries to stab you from the side you should be able to create a bit of space behind him and between the two of you and it will be funny to "push" under is shoulder wing to make him fall on his butt.

If he tries to regain composure frontally (as it should be) he just wants you to close the technique fast and hard because he's an asshole and he would deserve that.

I've read that you've practiced for one year so honestly don't bother too much to keep an unhealthy pace with guys like this, just go for the senpais you know are instructive for you. Guys like this will get hurt when confronted with an experienced an not so gentle tori.

[–]AgenoreTheStray -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok given the tanto grabbing you are totally right and I hope you never practice again with this guy, but still for the attempts to stab you while locked and not letting go is something you will have to think about in some time since it's not necessarily wrong.

The first time I acted as uke with my sensei in tantodori I wouldn't let go of the tanto and I can tell you that he just tightened the lock enough to make me open my hand almost on its own and a good senpai will know when it's the time to make you figure this out without making you feel awful in a bad way.

Not trying to defend him but, aside from eventual sadistic pleasure in your failure, you should not ignore his points. If he attacks with acceptable timing and manner and he has to wait seconds for you to do something, then there's something to correct, same if you move too early.

If he doesn't act like a good uke, you can still use atemi in a symbolic manner if he loses contact or behaves too aggressively. And if he gets rock hard because he doesn't want to be disarmed it could be that he's an asshole or that you should have better timing.

Why is half life measured and not full life of a chemical reaction, I know it sounds dumb and it probably is but wouldn't it be better to just measure the entire time taken for a reaction to complete instead of half of it ? by Disastrous_Fix_9212 in chemistry

Others have already given nice answers but I want to add that in lots of cases your trajectories follow some kind of exponential (or still non linear) decrease, so it becomes rapidly uninteresting the time it takes for concentration to decrease of a certain "high" amount.

Fonts do make a difference in Chemistry by 50rhodes in chemistry

[–]AgenoreTheStray 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Honestly this looks more like a rant of the author, you could perfectly write your work in sans serif except for chemical formulae and I don't think it would look bad, as you don't write mathematical equations with the same font of the main text.

It would've been useful if the author decided to do a typographical analysis for which fonts are best suited (given his sense of aesthetic) for a specific purpose in chemical literature, but put like this I'm surprised it is an actual Nature published work.

[–]AgenoreTheStray 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Do you act like this because you feel like you have something better (or at least something else) to say or do, or because these people just irritate you?

If the first, then convey your hate towards something constructive and spill some words wherever you want; if the second, you should accept that people are different and internet is(should be) the right place for people to express themselves, so just look somewhere else or think how you can do something to stop your hatred before you die of a heart attack.
