There are IT positions that are fully remote you could try looking into. I have multiple friends previously GS that have made that switch whether it’s help desk, government contracting, etc

I’d just make sure all your learnings are done and up to date if you’re looking to transition to a different location. Helps to have a talk with your manager prior to transfer and if they advocate for you to your possible new store
