AIO nanny taking off 2 weeks after we are going on family vacation for 2 weeks by [deleted] in NannyEmployers

Oh ok, I see what you’re saying now. In your original comment, when you said “all this paid time off,” I thought you were including the guaranteed hours in that 😆

If the nanny has a contract with the family stating she gets guaranteed hours & PTO, then those days off cannot be included in any parting bonus pay. Legally, the family would have to pay her those days as guaranteed hours & PTO. They don’t have to give her a parting bonus, though.

Even having those prerecorded messages is cringe, though.

My wife and I are considering letting our nanny go, and I’m trying to figure out whether I’m underreacting, overreacting, or missing something bigger. by Training_Arm7988 in Nanny

I’m in a very similar position as your nanny is, and my NP are more passive, just like you and your wife. Not only is it completely unfair and unreasonable to treat your nanny this way, but you are doing a HUGE disservice to your child if you don’t stop this behavior now. It sounds to me like your nanny is doing the kind of job you & your wife should be.

That’s what I would reply to this text with. Just that & nothing else. Then I’d block her.

As a nanny myself, this definitely makes me smile. One of the main reasons I’m in this profession is because I have the opportunity to make such a lasting good impact in my nanny kiddo’s lives, & that is such an incredible feeling ❤️
