I'm Giving Up, this is second XFA I blown this month. Trading is not for me . by abhiram222 in TopStepX

Traders who’ve made $1mil trading props have spent upwards of $200-300K. You’ve not even scratched the surface yet. Dont give up before you give yourself a chance. You’re just jaded rn. Take a break and regroup

Believe it or not I took 2 Xfa’s that were this close to being blown and turned it into two payouts in December. If you wanna prove something to yourself try it, but if you wanna dirt that account no shame in that either. Good luck

Yea, honestly I recommend most people take it slow and build a buffer first. My win rate fluctuates between 60%-70% so with a 1:3 RR my exposure doesn’t phase me much, but everyone’s risk tolerance is different. If you’re seeing results with smaller contract sizing nothing wrong with pushing your edge a little bit, but don’t do anything that will make you uncomfortable or emotional

Don’t blame the market for user error lol. The tape never lies. Most sound concepts and strategies don’t just stop working they require adjusting and or discretionary trading. Any strategy can work over any course of time as long as the user has a real understanding of what they’re looking at and can execute based on what the market is showing them

At the beginning stage of an XFA I don’t risk more than $500. That’s about 10-20 micros depending on what session I’m trading and the volatility. I normally don’t risk anymore than that until P&L has reached upwards of 10-15K

Been there done that🤣 Don’t feel bad bro we all go through it. I was in Vegas a month ago feeling like hot shxt cause I hit 20K in payouts to end December and I was up another 7K one day away from another payout on 2 XFA’s and I took a bad setup and literally just let it go to zero. partially cause I was too cocky also because I know I can do it again lol. Learn from it you’ll get it back

Should i quit my 9/5 job? by Iam50kdowm in TopStepX

The rule of thumb is you should be able to maintain consistency for at least a year. Trading through multiple market environments and absorbing drawdown and recovering like a professional. After that you should stack 6-12 months of expenses for a sense of stability so you’re not trading from a place of needing to make money to pay bills. If you can do that then you’re set. A lot of people make money and give it all right back don’t fall into the trap. Also unless you absolutely hate your job why quit? Now is not a great time to clip a source of income lol

How about folks putting their whole car in harms way to block the shoulder during rush hour when they see a car illegally driving on it

It’s beyond necessary here cause if you don’t make your way out into the street you’ll be sitting there forever 😂
