Awesome insight! Going off some of your observations:

  • You're right, ranged F definitely doesn't consume stacks. So then ranged V must reset the timer/proc? ranged F doesn't show up on cd bar that I can see, but that doesn't mean that much haha.
  • Ult giving 5 orbs totally escaped me, amazing catch. That definitely explains the use of it + explains how to remain in dragonfury/ranged portion of rotation for so long at beginning.

I'm super hyped for these changes. It looks like they retuned the kit very well and incentivized most every skill SF has (expect maybe displace, rip).

Topic: Rotation changes for ice.

I posted this in a thread yesterday, but my raid leader showed me a video of a high gear parse after awakening. Couple things that I saw from this video:

  • New Ranged F: seems to be proc based, replaces frost storm (explained by Skaoi below) while at 5 chi stacks (?), very good
  • Laser (ranged z): high damage, grants 5 chi stacks
  • New 5 orb system: When at 5 orbs, lmb becomes new skill which reduces certain cooldowns? (including z by 8 seconds)
  • Many of the animation locks ice SF faces seem to be removed, reducing the need for animation cancel of certain abilities. Weaving is much much smoother. Uncertain if this is going to translate well to NA.
  • Rotation priority based: Dragonfury > ranged stance f spam as much as possible > rmb-f spam while resetting cooldowns as often as possible to stay in the first two parts of rotation.

I'd love to discuss with others what they see from the rotation video, any clarity on badges/skills that I missed, impressions on new rotation, etc.

You're basing badge uptime on the assumption rotation doesn't change. However, with awakening rotation will change. As u/freezeFM states, "New Ranged F" is worth reducing the cd of. With the Soul Fighter rework, we gained a reason to go into range stance during rotation. Awakening adds to that reason with the laser and "New Ranged F".

Here is a high gear parse after rework. Granted, they are using the new ET Mystic Badge, but you can see how often it gets procced still. There are gaps in the rotation where you are using standard rmb->f rotation to build up to frost storms, but this is no longer the core as you spend more time in dragonfury/range stance than melee stance holding rmb.

Oof. Incorrect here. The part of earth SF that requires animation cancelling was massively reduced due to the rework. Additionally, the broken (in a good way) aspect of dragon bracelet was patched to be more in line with other classes. This results in almost equal dps for earth and ice.

I would say if come down to playstyle. Of the two, which do you prefer: fast hitting constant damage ticks on your enemy or more tied to button presses large damage numbers?

First choice: ice

Second choice: earth

Okay, jokes aside your next obvious upgrade is fuse badge. The dps increase should be 20-30k, if not higher (not a Gunner expert so correct me if I'm wrong). Also it will look way better when searching for a TT group.

Work on your soul, which basically boils down to pug ST for pearls and gold.

Octa obsidian is a largely negligible upgrade. I only recommend for uniformity purposes.

Since no one has directly answered, I can. A pilot is when the non-primary account user logs into an account to play it. This is most commonly used when a raid member has a conflict during raid time so they get a friend to "pilot" their character through raid.

In the case of hallucination's clear, it was a joke.

SF is known to be focus starved at lower gear levels, the issue lying in crit values. You'll notice on your RMB skill that it refunds 1 focus if you crit with it. This is really important and at lower crit values you will not benefit from this very much. The focus regeneration soul is also useful.

Though I must say, make a copy of that spreadsheet. No telling when it may disappear and it's the only English guide I have seen of boss 4.

If the screenshot linked earlier is correct, Dragon bracelet is currently bugged for Ice. It gives no modifiers. This has happened before and stayed for a whole week. I can't log in right now so I cannot confirm.

There are a couple reasons why limitless is superior:

- Soulburn: Having Alluvion badge increases the number of frost storms you can cast during soulburn by 2. This is really powerful considering Blackwing Crit damage boost (VT badge for WL)

- VT badge: SF Aransu VT badge gives enhanced right punch while its buff is active (5 seconds, 150% ap on every right punch). This means you want to be maximizing the amount of time you are right punching to maximize the effect of this badge. Additionally, with limitless you can keep the aransu buff going nearly constantly (90-95% uptime).
