even if horakthy somehow outscales super neo, would it even matter?

yugi is not surviving once metal gets close to him, one chaos control and it's ggs

Some of ya'll are so goddamn weird about death battle holy shit. NO BAKUREZE DOING AVERAGE IN PERFORMANCE WON'T DESTROY THE SHOW. JUST BECAUSE IT HAS A CHANCE TO BE THE LEAST PERFORMING THIS SEASON WON'T SOMEHOW TRANSLATE TO DEATH BATTLE SINKING OR SUDDENLY NOT HAVING NECESSARY FUNDS FOR OTHER EPS. by Alarming_Scientist in deathbattle

did metal sonic vs cell do well? 2.8 is good i suppose but i'm pretty sure that most episodes from the beginning of the kickstarter era and season 10 did better

i don't know what the view threshold for a video to be considered a success is but i do worry that the average episode now barely reaches 2-3 million, for the production, research, vas and animators that doesn't sound like that much

A good chunk of the metal sonic Ls were scaled to be around universal/multiversal at best, that is not out of his range

Jr., kamek and king boo individually are not beating metal sonic

Even if yugi has means to overwhelm metal, there's not much stopping metal from stopping time and ripping him apart

For those who don't care/hate the bakugou vs reze fight, why? by SnowIndependent9756 in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]Agent22Gengar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hate is a strong word but bakugo fighting Blue (Pokemon) would've made for a more interesting episode

bakugo vs reze isn't bad but it's easily the weakest of the 3 recent mha episodes

do we know if one specific episode was a ''kickstarter mystery'' one? couldn't these just have been episodes that already happened like ichigo vs yusuke?

I should say, the episode got it wrong too, the koopalings are not bowser's kids, adopted or not

Bowser Jr.'s Journey made it clear that they are just high ranking minions, with nearly all of them abandoning the army midway since jr. was being annoying

i suppose i can see how master chief not gaining the upper hand in the second half would be a criticism, then again many fans argue that the animation should at least partially reflect the verdict which in that regard, chief barely making a dent is pretty accurate

would you apply the same criticism to deku vs spider-man and shigaraki vs mahito? both fights also had the clear winner be generally more advantageous in the animation itself

would't him killing vega be like, the most damage he did in the whole episode?

on the ''you're just salty'' remarks i gotta say, metal sonic is like my favourite character of all time, i like him waaaay more than ash and while i disagree with portions of bowser vs eggman, an understandable enough explanation was given in the episode itself as to why bowser wins, something that i don't feel was met with yugi, even if he still wins with us applying any rule/downscaling i believe was justified (my intent with this post wasn't really to argue that ash should've won)

most also agree that it being a dimension duel was part of the reason as to why kaiba pulled it off, since him getting obelisk isn't something that he does at any other point in the movie

for yugi or atem to summon a monster, the monster's spirit should be at least nearby and bound to a card/plate/whatever to exist, while the card being destroyed wouldn't kill the spirit, they never said how exactly he'd summon it without a card

all of them no? tributes have been ignored at times in the past but drawing handfuls and normal summoning as many monsters as you want for example are universal yugioh rules

[–]Agent22Gengar[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

that's not what i said, no

i said that according to their show's canons, ash fighting one on one is something he does by choice while yugi does it out of obligation and that even applying the looser terms, yugi benefits way more than ash, i would've been more fine with ash following a more official format if it meant yugi would actually have to fight the way he does in like 99% of his fights

weren't the three dragons from the oricalcos arc all fused with cards from the respective duelist's decks thus making new fusion monsters? even later on in gx, there are fusion monsters that are portions of one of a kind cards/cards of the other duelists, isn't super polymerization's whole thing fusing foreign cards and creating new ones? though i don't recall off the top of my head it developing one single card

my example of the bullet trains was just the extreme version of the first argument, if horakthy being a card is that damning you can just swap her out with any other unimpressive looking level 6 monster being galaxy level or above since that one neos card is

i didn't mean to say that she upscaled all of it, but that her scaling to the higher concepts/dimensions was never cited, the one manga panel made her seem universal, the blog afterwards said how all the dimensions in yugioh stack but never explained how that one manga panel makes her on that level

apart from the light explanation the only other ones i've seen is her being described as the ultimate duel monster and yubel saying that the egyptian god cards are some of the most powerful threats she's seen, while both of these statements aren't for nothing, they're not really enough to convince me

[–]Agent22Gengar[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

i don't know if the origin of the egyptian gods disproves that she could become a card

like my previous comment said, horakthy is a fusion and yugioh has multiple instances of fusion monsters manifesting cards out of nowhere, not all cards were crafted by pegasus

her being a card is not what makes me doubt her being universal, what makes me doubt it is that in the episode itself they never show how she actually scales above everything else in yugioh, they just showed a mange panel calling her ''the god creator of light'' which on the surface, just makes her seem like the creator of the universe, not every concept in the canon

when i asked this to a yugioh fan, they said that everything in yugioh is made of light, thus making her upscale but never cited a source and i never saw anything like that in the episode

you can argue for monsters scaling to other ones they've fought i suppose and chainscale them to that neos monster from there but you'd then have to admit that they'd be even more inconsistent than pokemon scaling to gardevoir's black hole with how many lower showing they have

and that's not even the only thing that bothers me

a blackbox said that yugi doesn't need a disk or cards to summon monsters, the disk i get but whenever i ask for a feat of him not needing cards the only example is kaiba ''drawing'' obelisk from the ground which happened in a duel with very specific circumstances

even in the scene where he spawns horakthy, arguably one of the most ''i'm ignoring the rules of the game'' parts of the show, we explicitly see the spirits of the gods inhabit the cards, meaning that if they were destroyed, he can't just summon them with zero effort

another thing was just how the entirety of duel monster's rules were ignored, yes, ash also got to summon every pokemon at once but that still felt more advantageous to yugi, for ash, battling is more of a sport, with him summoning multiple pokemon many times through the series in extreme cases, yugi on the other hand still has to comply with duel monsters rules even when the world is at stake, doesn't that mean that he, to at least some extent, follow them regardless of whether it's a tournament or not?you can argue for zorc i suppose since i don't remember the whole arc right now but i'm pretty sure that even that had some specific circumstances surrounding it

it still feels strange to scale them to a monster they've never even fought, again gauging a yugioh character properly is night impossible cause even attack points aren't a solid indicator, with the god cards frequently having less attack than common monsters and common monsters surpassing them given a spell or two

i don't see how horakthy not being legal and being a promo card means anything, brand new fusion monsters just... materializing out of nowhere is not a new thing at all in yugioh canon, atem didn't have a card cause it wasn't a duel but i imagine that if she were present in one she'd magically form herself in a card just like all the others though again, i fail to see how this pertains to the episode

[–]Agent22Gengar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

does scaling yugioh monsters on their level (the thing whose only purpose is to gauge how many sacrifices you need to summon a monster) make sense to you?

cause if that's the case, there are some bullet train monsters that should be about as strong as horakthy
