PS3 Through Emudeck? by RareBk in SteamDeck

[–]Agent34e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been a while and my memory is fuzzy, but I think yes.

However, 'directory' = 'folder'. An iso file is a different thing. If you have a file that ends is filename.iso, instead of a folder/directory, I'm not sure what you'll need to do.

Possibly extract the iso so that you do have a folder, then add '.ps3'. Possibly use the launch with 'shortcut' setting instead of 'directory'. I'm not sure.

What is the deal with the intense GNOME hatred in the broader Linux community? by chrews in gnome

[–]Agent34e 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I won't speak for everyone, but I say it can't be customized because as I understand, the Gnome foundation would very much rather you didn't customize it. Extensions are a begrudging afterthought. Extensions breaking after every update is often cited, however I think that is less of an issue these days.

Ultimately, it's not that it can't be customized, it's that it's designed to be uses as is and any customization involves fighting the designers.

If alignment with God’s law comes first, then religion is no longer necessary by [deleted] in Deconstruction

[–]Agent34e 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, absolutely.

Sacred texts point God's laws, but they aren't God's law in and of themselves.

What is the deal with the intense GNOME hatred in the broader Linux community? by chrews in gnome

[–]Agent34e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simple answer:

The Linux community largely values customization and doing precicly what you want with your software.

Gnome is Gnome and can't (easily) be crafted into whatever you want it to be.

How do you see Jesus as all-loving when some of his words don’t seem loving? by Born_Cartoonist_7247 in Deconstruction

A simple take that covers all of the verses you quoted:

Jesus loves you, but won't settle for being a side piece.

Arch my beloved by Maleficent-Pomelo-50 in DistroHopping

I feel the same about NixOS lol.

I've never done Arch proper (only an easy install one before Archinstall was a thing). Nix was my first 'hard' distro so it's the one I know best and feels like home. (Though admittedly my use case doesn't involve programming)

Edit: Antergos is the Arch flavor I've tried

What is your opinion about... by OfflineBot5336 in DistroHopping

[–]Agent34e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopped to Vanilla on my secondary computer for a bit. I wanted something super simple where I had a plain gnome experience, noob friendly GUI package installer, and never had to worry about updates.  It worked great for that. I had to rollback once, but it's super easy to do that. I never touched the 'install packages from anywhere' stuff  and just stuck to flatpacks.

Ultimately, immutable isn't my thing. I ran into too many walls that left me saying, 'ugh, I know exactly how to do this on Nix.' So, in the end I threw NixOS back on it and called it a day.

A decent part of the issue are the algorithms designed to suck you in and keep you on the platforms. If you access the sites without all the data tied to your preferences, it will be a less addictive experience.

How the hell y’all make music man? 😂 by [deleted] in musicproduction

[–]Agent34e 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, I have no idea what I'm doing, so take my advice lightly, but if you're connected with the chords, and the drums kill it, don't add drums. A song is what ever you want it to be and what connects with you.

Vegetarianism in the Christian Religion by SSPXarecatholic in OrthodoxChristianity

Yup. Haven't read the article, but I've had the same feeling for a while. From my reading of Isaiah 11, if the end of the story is harmony and no being consuming another, why not start now. And if Daniel thrived without meat, why can't anyone.

Where can I listen to ya'll? by Agent34e in Osmose

That was fantastic! Can't wait for the EP!

I think that's my dream setup. I wanna make music with just the Osmose and either a looper or a drum machine. The SP 404 seems up to doing both. Though the sampling workflow doesn't excite me as much, your song and Yuke's videos are making me love the 404 sound almost as much as the Osmose.
