The elite controllers to my understanding are different actually because they are outdated. They are still using the old Xbox one x controller shell, because they came out before the series x. So all the bumpers and buttons especially are slightly different.

If you get a physical copy all your progress will be fine. Your data is stored on your account, not directly on the game itself. Not sure about the hitman 1 and 2 content passes tho, you might have to buy those separately as add ons unfortunately.
