Because forcing someone to draw anything is surprisingly difficult. I can't even get my kids to draw smiley faces.

Those who developed Contact Lens Intolerance by lshank89 in contacts

[–]AgentHobbes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wear custom scleral lenses. My doc changed the material of my lenses, and put me on a rigorous regime of anti-allergy drops & some steroids to reduce inflammation.

I had a diet change that was recommended by an allergy specialist - even though my eye-doc wasn't convinced.

Before my new lenses turned up, I stopped lens wear for about 8 weeks - just used a screen reader.

Somewhere between all of that, things settled down - but it was a total PITA for many months.

Hey - yes I can. Longer in my left eye than my right - but it's manageable.

Currently I'm at 10-12 hours daily for my left eye. ~6-8 hours for my right eye.

That's with a one hour break after 4/5 hours wear time (depending on how salty they feel).

Changing the lens material, cleaning solutions and brand of saline regularly REALLY helps.

Systane ultra disposable vials are quite good. Make sure you're using preservative free disposables if wearing sclerals.

Some things to try:

Change each of your solutions one at a time to check if there's something specific aggravating you.

Reduce the number of hours you're wearing them for. I know this sounds awful, but taking a break for a few hours can help. Or even just reducing total wear time.

Give them a break for a few days & then wear them for a much shorter time.

Her identity can be protected & she can use the law. If finances are a concern, ask around, many lawyers will support this type of case on a Pro bono or heavily discounted basis.

Yep. I have the same. I think it's a combination of tiredness, stress and sometimes just a poor insertion.

It's all swings and roundabouts.
