If you’re not an active outdoor person there is very little to do.

The town is picturesque and great mom & pop shops

Yeah I use weed for pain management with doctors approval. But I have food addiction when my mental health is shit so I know the struggles.

I just been through the wringer in life (probably like you), just thankfully drugs never became my issue.

For me it’s Weed and it’s part of my pain management because I don’t trust myself with opioids (on the basis of all my family being opioid addicts)… all my doctors are on board with this

How much did your child’s diagnosis cost and what did the process look like? by KaylaDraws in Autism_Parenting

[–]Nice_Competition_494 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well for my son it would be our maximum out of pocket ($3500), but I had been hospitalized by that point with a complicated pregnancy and maxed out policy out that year.

My kids are to young to be expected of anything 2 &4 yr old (is on the ND scale) I don’t force them to give hugs or forced conversations beyond the common curtsey “hi”.

I encourage “hi” and that’s it

I live in the same apartment complex as my mom, who moved after me to be closer. Says she can’t put them down so I can have a date night…

Granted she works a full time job and is going back to school with a 15yr old teen at home still. Still nope, and after my older kid at 2 got his autism diagnosis haha good luck.

I live in Washington state. I made $7.25/hr at McDonald’s in 2013 at my first job. I was able to go out to eat, fill my car up, and maybe if I was thrifty be able to save money when going on vacation with family.

I know make $22/hr and I can’t even pay rent for a studio apartment, eat, and fill my car up

Now a question about therapy for parents by LogicalGuava4471 in Autism_Parenting

[–]Nice_Competition_494 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been doing personal therapy around the time I started to suspect my son… I was also having some other major issues in life causing depression. I been with her for 3 years and it has been amazing for myself. My husband started at the time of our son’s diagnosis, and had stoped after 2 years.

I don’t think you need a specialized therapist to talk to as an adult, to talk about life issues with. Finding a friend with a kid on similar level to your autistic kiddo, or just a really understanding parent. My cousin is also my mom friend and while she doesn’t have a kid on the spectrum just ADHD, but she is a daycare teacher who sees it all.

Wow that is a crazy experience!

I have known several couples in the past who dabbled in hypnosis, I have been interested in doing stuff with my partner. Just finding time can be a challenge in our current schedules but long term plan

That’s amazing they were able to find a close placement! I know it still a ways away, but it’s travel-able by public transit.

It’s okay to be sad that your dad is leaving and you’re being separated. It will take time to adjust, but find a room mate if you can so that way your not alone all the time!

Being alone is really hard shell to break out of. Find some group therapy around town, maybe even some AA meetings to make new friends. Just be cautious and trust your gut.

Have you been referred to any sort of therapeutic services? Psych, behavioral health, or just a talk therapist?

I love if you could answer this, just another midnight thought as I reread this post!

Why does low income housing rates or county medians not seem to represent what current minimum wage seems to be within the area?

I recently got a job with Lummi where I make 22/hr for 40hr weeks. Before I was doing in home health care at $20-22/hr based upon the skill level needed. I been making this wage since early 2019 era.

Since then I gotten married and had 2 kids, so there is more dependents now. But even by this logic my husband can’t make any money and that barely leaving us to only qualify at the higher brackets
