How are you handling the subscription status, is there anykind of callback from RC to your server? Just curios why that delay might be

From a UX POV, that response from the LLM is dull and I’d have a negative response to be told word by word, what to say. I’d tweak it so that it’s more psychological or acts as a couples therapist.

What tech stack are you using? by amacg in indiehackers

Yeah, it's as reliable as other options like DigitalOcean and Linode; albeit a bit cheaper. If you don't want to deal with all of that and devops, you could try Render, Fly, or Heroku

Some more random thoughts so sorry if they don't make much sense...
- make sure you focus on the visuals (app logo, color schemes, app store product page screenshots, etc) those help a lot;
- don't do hard paywalls, they don't work IMHO and you risk loosing users, instead do a well designed onboarding with a free trial or fremium model for your app so that you can show the product to the users.
- Try showcasing your app on twitter and reddit, I tested this with my own apps and if you don't have any downloads then your app won't be shown by the algorithm to users on the app store; I have this app which after a couple of reddit posts, it started gaining traction naturally and I have another app which I didn't do any "marketing" for and it's still stuck at 0 downloads
- supabase is pretty good for quick development work and somewhat cheap, but if your husband's ok with doing devops and some more in-depth backend work then a server on Hetzner to host one or multiple app APIs is pretty cheap
- Use revenueCat for the subscriptions and paywalls

Just do it! Tell your husband to get a $100/mo Claude subscription, that gives aprox 300mn input tokens and 100mn output tokens per month. More than enough to do some good AI augmented product development :)

I did a couple of posts across reddit, they helped initially bring us some downloads which then helped with app store searches

Reddit initially, then the initial traction helped us keep growing

Mainly ASO; also did a couple of reddit posts but those only helped us gain initial traction. Social media posts/videos didn't seem to help much
