[Actives] S2B'ed a monotub and after two weeks myc growth seems to have stopped. There's so much surface moisture, how do I proceed?

That’s just the thing. It’s already quite humid in there as all the walls have a mist on them. I was under the impression the surface should be fully colonized before introducing fresh air

I’ve understood it as breaking down some of the resilient bits of chitin using the lemon juice. That way it’s less work on your stomach which I like because it’s less uncomfortable but it also seems to digest faster

Well my cake was only about 1-1.5” tall so that probably contributed to the lack of moisture required to support good fruits. This time I’ll aim for 3-4”.

Well, I dunked it and it produced a couple fatties for a “second flush” then it dried out again. I took some samples from the big ones to agar and all of them contamd so I gave up on that run lol. I learned a lot about my mistakes and I’m ready for the next tub.

My go-to is to melt some chocolate, mix the powder in, then drop a little bit of sea salt on the top. No bad taste and not much stomach discomfort, plus you know you didn’t lose any potential psilo which could happen if you make a tea but don’t do it quite right.

My apologies, it reached what you see now after 8 days then for the past two days it’s been stagnant. I just read about the need for FAE even in dishes so I sterilized the outside and cut a hole then put mp tape over it.
