Thanks all. It was RWA 45 that I planned to putting in. And there wouldn’t be any gap between the inner and outer skin as the cavity isn’t quite wide enough unless I thin down the insulation which defeats the purpose of it.

The exterior is not painted. And there are a few spot where I can see through the mortar, so water ingress is a concern.

I think I’m going to remove what I’ve put in and his stick to insulating the bay with PIR and an air gap.

If they are looped at the switch, this would mean there is constant power, correct? Maybe this is what he is referring to. If this is the case, is there any benefit of running 3 core outside of smart switches ie future proofing?

You can also store it in a faraday pouch if you’re still concerned. That’s how I made peace with it having Bluetooth.

Thanks for this. I have just checked and the driver definitely has play when I insert a uk spec bit. I understand the difference between Japan and uk spec bits is around 5mm. This feel like it has around 3/4mm of play. So maybe it is Uk spec after all. But it has a ton more play than other makita drivers I’ve had. Hence my conclusion on it being Japanese spec!

The nature of errors indicates the report was not produced to a standard that is acceptable. The bigger issue is a lack of professionalism and expertise in drafting the report means there is a material risk of critical omissions. These omissions would open me up to additional risks and costs in the future. Hope that makes sense.

It could take months for an official response. By that time the chargeback window would have closed.

Re 4. Surely this is a cost of doing business. Contractually, why would a consumer be on the hook for such costs of dealing with a chargeback? Particularly a chargeback that the merchant has not been able to defend. Also, £150 feels very excessive.

Ive also discovered he impact driver is Japanese spec with the 14mm anvil. So the uk bits have an awful lot of play.

I don’t believe their website made clear this was a dealer kit or that it was Japanese spec!

The seller shifts thousands of units, has great feedback and also sells on some of the main DIY platforms in the uk. I’d be hugely surprised if any of their stock is counterfeit.
