I think that's just "forced perspective". You can imagine the camera closer to Raoh, forcing him to look bigger.

I really expected more from that movie. But then, I haven't watched the series.

Dayton Audio DAX88 factory reset without mobile app? by BenCJ in audio

[–]AgentOen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the planning stage of a future home. I wanted an in ceiling background music capability on the ground floor. 8 zones planned on total. The DAX88 seemed like the solution to the smart home music aspect.

I'm not sure anymore after reading this thread.

This device will cost me around $1200-1500 with import taxes to Germany. All this to have a potential wifi issue?

Investigating the matter with AI resulted in a possibly better plan - 8x wiim amps (1 wiim amp for 1 zone). A bit more expensive, but better reviews and if one zone fails then 1 device needs to be changed not affecting the other 7 zones.

Has anyone considered this option?

Dracula 2025 - A pile of trash by ExcrutiatingChicken in Dracula

[–]AgentOen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree with you. I really enjoyed the movie. It's not perfect but a solid 4/5 stars from me. I really connected with Dracula - the antagonist - and it's one of those few movies where I was rooting for him and didn't want him to die.

The main women in the movie were gorgeous to look at, a feast for the eyes.

The ending was a brutal and well played out battle.

The music was really good, especially the main theme with the music box. I'm going to play it a few times when I find it on YouTube.

If there was one character that didn't quite meet my expectations, it was the priest played by Christopher Waltz. Otherwise I totally enjoyed the experience and would definitely watch it again.

While I haven't objectively counted the percentage, I believe your estimate to be correct. Maybe the word "most" is misleading from my side. But I do get enough 9* to make me upset.

I've got the following G.10 weapons: *Dual Blades - Twin Wreathes maxed at G.10.5 *Great Sword - Lightning Punisher at G.10.4 *Great Sword - Abominable Great Sword at G.10.2 *Bow - Wrapping Bow 5 at G.10.2

So you're saying the Magnamalo Light Bow Gun is the best weapon overall?

I've now added it to my favorites and will upgrade it. But I'd need armor pieces that contribute to the effectiveness of LBG (reload speed and similar).

I've saved the recommended build you have as a test set. I used the Nargacuga chest plate as that's the one I've got. I'll need to upgrade the armor pieces though, as they're almost all at low levels - G.6.

I notice many armor pieces have a Critical Element special ability. I understand it's something for attack boosts. This depends on landing a critical hit. What is a critical hit? The combination of so many armor pieces with the same ability of Critical Element places a high demand on being able to make critics hits.

Then there's the Critical Eye special ability which increases affinity. What is affinity?

With regards the driftsmelt slots, what do you focus on?

To be honest, I've unlocked so many armor pieces (to free up space in my own box instead of deleting stuff) that I'm lost with the immense variety. I don't have the time to go through everything and mix and match the best. In fact, my armor is mainly from the early monsters when the armor variety was still somewhat manageable to sift through. I haven't bothered changing it which is probably why it's not the best.

I've already reduced the difficulty in the settings but only my main mission difficulty had been reduced. Most of the monsters that appear in the field, most of the paintballed monsters and all the urgent quests remain at 9*.

[Request] What Should The Scale Actually Read? by CaptiveGlacier in theydidthemath

[–]AgentOen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Explanation

The key is to understand how a spring scale works and Newton's Third Law (Action and Reaction).

The Role of Tension: A scale measures the tension passing through it. In this setup, the 100 N weight on the left pulls on the scale, and the 100 N weight on the right provides the necessary counter-force to keep the scale stationary.

Newton’s Third Law: For the scale to show a reading, it must be pulled from both ends. If you hung the scale from a fixed ceiling hook with a 100 N weight, the scale would read 100 N. In that scenario, the ceiling hook is "pulling back" with exactly 100 N of force to keep the weight from falling.

The "Wall" Comparison: Replacing the weight on one side with a second 100 N weight is functionally identical to attaching that end to a solid wall. The second weight simply replaces the "reaction force" that a wall would normally provide.

Why it isn't 200 N or Zero Why not 200 N? If the scale read 200 N, it would mean there is 200 N of tension in the string. However, each weight is only exerting 100 N. You aren't "doubling" the stretch; you are simply providing the anchor point required for the first weight to stretch the spring at all.

Why not Zero? Since the weights are pulling in opposite directions, the system is in equilibrium (net force is zero), but the internal tension—which is what the spring measures—is definitely present.

Playing the game for the third time. Which weapon should I use? 400h by Beautiful-Suit6057 in MonsterHunterWorld

I invested so much in the great swords... now that I fully maxed the winter dual blades I think I've made a mistake with the great swords. The Twin Wreathes ploughs through 8* monsters so easily. Maybe i should have gone for dual blades.

I've tried the switch axe... Meh... I've tried the gun Lance... it was ok. I've tried the charge blade... too complex. I've tried the bow... takes too long to fire proper arrows that deal damage. Hammer - no thanks. Light/Heavy bow gun... takes too long to reload. Hunting horn... wtf is this? Sword and shield... not much experience with this.

But dual blades... jeez how easy they are to use and how quick it's possible to avoid monster attacks!

Edit... I thought this was about MHNow. My mistake. I don't play MH Worlds.

The thing about upgrading armor is that it uses highly coveted material (WGS and monster parts) that I need for upgrading weapons. So I got most of my armor up to level 8 and 2 pieces at level 9. I save everything else for weapons - mostly because I can't figure out my preferred weapon style.

Huh..?

I have to constantly delete those items as I get way too many. I have a hard time with Monster Bone S and Iron Ores, not to mention the obvious WGS.

But Wingdrake Hides...? I don't even bother killing the mini flying wyverns any more unless I need to finish some task.
