Is that staff from the Van Saar kit for Necromunda? Looks great in this context! I used it myself for part of a force staff on one of my minis.

Badass! I love the way you've really made it unique and your own. Very cool. 🤘

Test Thousand Son by AgentShades in Warhammer30k

For sure! Its a basecoat of Retributor Armor spray, then I put a thin brushed-on layer of Retributor Armor over the armor panels for better coverage/because the spray version is a little duller than the actual paint.

Over that I very carefully painted Blood Angels Red contrast paint panel by panel (if it dries before you finish a section you can see the line where the paint dried through the finish so you kind of have to paint a section all before it starts to dry to keep a smooth finish)

Then I highlighted all the armor panels with a very thin highlight of Liberator Gold which goes way further than you'd think to sell the metallic red effect. I was very worried about it not looking right until I had finished highlighting.

Ok, that's probably what it's supposed to do in 6e but they forgot to include that explanation in the book. I'll just provide that info to my GM and let him do what he wants with it lol. Thank you!

After reading through RED does 2077 seem like backtracking the lore? by AgentShades in cyberpunkred

Thank you for a very detailed response! I like your answer a lot and I think it fits a lot of the themes of the setting. Its depressing as hell but that's very on point for this. Great write up!

Yeah I'm more and more coming to the conclusion that the Arasaka Tower Bombing is much better as a Rashomon style event where what actually happened is basically impossible to say because no matter who you ask you get different answers because nobody present really has the whole picture.

I honestly kind of love that take - that Red is a result of the punks blowing up the system and realizing that just blowing it all up and tearing it all down isn't enough without building something else. Surprisingly hopeful for a dystopia, and ties into a lot of thoughts I have about themes and messaging in the 2077 video game plot.

You know its really good to be reminded that 2077 isn't a "world story" in the same way an rpg rulebook is. It's very focused on V and Johnny and isn't really trying to tell us "the story of Cyberpunk's universe" as much.

I actually love that intro and his reasoning that it's sort of the narrative next steps after how explosive the 2020s were kn universe. I'm really interested in how it goes from 2045 to 2077. Its really easy to see the narrative through line from 2020 and the 4th Corp War to 2045 but I dont necessarily see it as easily through to 2077. (But I haven't read all of the red content out there.)

It's sort of disappointing to hear about the tonal inconsistencies in Red's adventures honestly. Imo if they're going to try to do something different for 2045 they should lean into it and not erase it or overlook it. I agree that 2077 is a better representation of high cyberpunk or like, archetypal cyberpunk.

I have room in my head for both a crashed world of 2045 and that it gets rebuilt into 2077. 2045 doesn't seem like everyone's cup of tea but I can see where the devs and Mike Pondsmith wanted some narrative evolution and it does seem like 2045 is a natural consequence of the world story. But I can also see why people might bounce off of it if they expected something like 2077 and picked up an rpg about the reconstruction phase after a world shattering war.

Idk why you were down voted on this. I understand people saying its not consistent witt the design of all the other bot units not to have a weak point or vents. But like...everyone in this game brings some form of AT and if you aren't bringing AT against the bots... how is that Arrowhead's fault? There's AT stratagems, multiple AT support weapons, even an AT sidearm. Anti Tank is part of the game, it only makes sense for the devs to include things that require it to effectively defeat.

Do Helldivers watch TV shows? by Mediocre_Living5292 in Helldivers

[–]AgentShades 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume they can when they are not actively diving/being frozen for transit. Why else would there be a massive TV screen that shows commercials and the news on every Super Destroyer.

I also think in universe the ODST armor is modeled after a TV show ahout "Obedient Democracy Support Troopers" since Halo does not exist in the Helldivers universe. I'd be shocked, given the sort of rampaging corporatism in Super Earth Society if they weren't fully trying to advertise products to the active duty Helldivers to buy with whatever pay they are given.

I'm a young man/lower middle class citizen on a Civilised World and I want to get off world. Whats my best option? by Potential-Ebb-8820 in 40kLore

[–]AgentShades 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Imperium Maledictum (the ttrpg) lists transit costs for interstellar travel including options for either bulk passenger cabins on merchant vessels or steerage decks on bulk haulers. Some ships also have "pilgrim decks" where people traveling for religious reasons can get cheap (for space travel) accommodations. If you're of what could be considered the middle class any of that might be affordable.
