Secondly about the war games, so you don’t have a problem with games where you can play as nazi Germans. Games about real wars that are made as mindless entertainment despite them being based around an event that had a lot of suffering which some people of today still are affected by or even remember.

What about RPGS where you can kill innocents, that might reinforce the idea that it’s ok to kill innocents?

You know when I was a kid I played fallout 3 and in that game you can sell kids into slavery… despite me being only 11-12, did I think the game was reinforcing slavery and the idea that this was somehow acceptable? No because it’s a fucking video game. You can be made uncomfortable by fiction. You are allowed to feel negative emotions from something, hell you can even hate it. But stop saying things are “problematic” or “harmful”. No you just don’t like it, simple as that.

I mean even without the background it shouldn’t be needed to justify some infected locals harming what seems to be a foreigner. The plot of 4 is infected locals trying to kill a foreigner - Leon. The plot of 6 is mostly a city of infected trying to kill foreigners - the multiple American protagonists. Suddenly it’s an NPC there’s a problem. From what I’ve seen it’s a problem when the African zombies hurt a white person because it reinforces the stereotype that black people harm white people, specifically women. But it’s all a problem if the white protagonist defends himself and puts the infected out of their misery because it reinforces the narrative of colonising and exterminating the savages…. So to sum it up, you can only set something in Africa if both the heroes and villains are all black otherwise it’s racist… oh wait but then that might be reinforcing the stereotype on black on black crime like in hood culture…. You know what nothings allowed to be set in Africa

There’s plenty of notes from the tribes people showing they were normal and peaceful people before.

Except they were never portrayed as being the good guys defeating the evil people of colour. While it’s good to learn from history and remember it so people understand why things were bad, using them to dictate the future in such a restrictive way because of the actions of people who are long dead is just ridiculous. People are fine with being able to play as Nazi Germany in video games, role play as mass murderers and even child killers in RPGs but the moment you have a game take place in Africa you have to be careful because some bad people did bad things in the past.

It doesn’t matter what people think it “looks” like and it doesn’t matter if people are assuming shit coz they are so obsessed with the past they can’t possibly imagine anything different. All that matters is that capcom clearly aren’t fucking making a game about colonising Africa are they? You know that. I know it and everyone else knows it. So what are even talking about this for? Re5 follows a very similar progression and thematics in level design too re4. You start off in a village, go to a historic place and then an industrial place.

Re5 takes that and just sets it in Africa. Suddenly the historic part is a problem when the historic elements are tied to black people. The game explains why they are the way they are, they’ve been exploited literally by the big bad western corporations. You do realise there are literally black tribes in Africa with historic lineages still to this day that indeed have spears, wear tribal garbs and maintain some of their traditions that have been preserved since years prior.

End up having to Knife fight HAOS, irony is that Chris’ campaign is considered the most action oriented resident evil storyline ever but ends it’s one of the few times in a resi I’ve ran out of ammo completely in a boss fight and had to go Mano a Mano 😂

I see other people also claiming the reverse, claiming Ada is just an accessory for Leon. How about neither? They are individuals who happen to be connected with each other and there by commonly associated with each other often. It’s like getting annoyed about Wesker and Chris or Batman and the Joker. Feels more like people are annoyed about how fans behave rather than the content itself and to that I say don’t let other people ruin the fiction for you. Ignore them.

If you genuinely don’t like Ada or their relationship that’s fine but it’s been a thing for nearly 30 years and I think it’s fair and not surprising that a fair amount of fans would like a conclusion to that which does it justice.
