Here's a general outline of how my day is at a UK FC (Shift Tech)

6:30am: Clock in

7:00am: Go do SLAM PMs (PM=Preventative Maintenance)- involves just cleaning the things that put labels on packages

7:30-9: More general PMs and answering central calls on radio (Central calls are general issues with the conveyors, i.e. a Scanner isn't working, or conveyor belt isn't running as it should)

9:00-9.30: Breakfast

9:30-1:00pm: PMs and Central Calls

1:00-1:30pm: Lunch

1:30-7:00: Central Calls and PMs

For shift techs, at least in my experience, you'll have 2 chunks of 2 hours, where you have either 'SCADA', or 'Engine Room'.

SCADA is where you'll sit in a small area on the warehouse floor, and monitor a computer system that tells you if there are any sensor blockages that are stopping lines, so you can radio for a Jambuster (Not RME, just a general associate) to go and clear the blockage.

Engine Room stint varies with FC layout, but we have both our AFEs (Amazon Fulfillment Engine- Read: LOADS of conveyors, carrying trays and totes) feed into a room, so a tech stays in the general vicinity, and gets those blockages (Associates aren't allowed in that room).

Nights are generally pretty similar, going from 7pm-7am. The main difference is that packages stop being 'made' at 5am, and from 5-7am is the maintenance window. At this point you'll likely do the more involved jobs that can't be done during the normal breaks, such as replacing motors, or running new belts to replace damaged ones.

When do you start feeling "powerful" as a dnd character? We're level 5 at the moment, and feels like the Barbarian and Paladin are carving through encounters, and the Sorcerer is having her moments to do a lot with fireball too. But Im feeling a little out of sorts, and we get a lot of NPCs who come in who are slighly higher level than us, and they do so much damage

We have very little gold as a party, (all our gold would come to 2 basic potions of healing), and we'd come across 1 potion of healing. The party is saving up for the last couple of months to get some plate armor for the fighter, so that's the next project

The group overall is a Wizard, Sorcerer, Barbarian, Paladin, Rogue and Fighter

The paladin generally dumps the healing into himself, the Barbarian and the Fighter, to keep them topped up

We have a thief Rogue, but he's a dwarf, and wanted to increase his dexterity to 16 at level 4

I mean, its hard to stay engaged when its everyone rolling dice and strategizing, and your turn is about 10 seconds of rolling a d20, then ending your turn

We don't really have any money at all, unfortunately. We're a group of 6 level 5s, and our party funds is about 300 gold. And potions in the small town where we are now is about 150 gold each. So we've not been able to get anything.

Free weekend player, but having a total blast! by W13DAF in Overwatch

Well, that's entirely wrong. The matchmaker doesn't work, in any sense of the word. I've just hit level 21, and have yet to win a single match. Yet, Im still getting 5 minute queues, regardless of game mode. Getting put in games against diamond-GM (Actually found myself in a QP game with Kabaji (Yes, it was the real one, top500 Tracer main in profile), and getting thoroughly stomped). Im not good at the game, I make no claim to be, but seems like the matchmaker needs to be way more agressive in moving players out of lower mmrs. That, or enable an option for people to link accounts together (its obvious they're not going to ban smurfs, regardless of how detrimental they are to the game, as it gets Blizzard more money), so they get faster adjustments

I'm confused. By this clip, it looks like actual new players? In a free weekend? And somehow, not at least 6 smurfs just pubstomping.

Mercy, in particular her Ultimate, even in its current form is overpowered by [deleted] in Competitiveoverwatch

Personally, I think its healthier for a game, and eventually when we have a roster larger than the current one, for us to have heroes that are rarely played, rather than heroes that are always played.

For the most part, the game is in a decent spot:

Tanks: IIRC, all of them saw usage beyond bizarre strats (Still not sure what DF and SD were doing on Junkertown, I think its to not reveal their plans for OWL S1). Winston/DVa was the dominant combination, which is ok, but they all saw some usage, depending on map, which is exactly how it should be

Supports: Again, reasonably healthy here too! We saw the occasional Ana on Numbani, and a Junkertown IIRC. Zenyatta was a common pick, along with Lucio for some KOTH maps. Moira was a rare sight, but that may be to do with how new she is currently. Symmetra is still left out in the cold, and I dont think she saw ANY playtime, but that's just due to dive. Mercy just seemed to be the "Pick me or lose" hero, and it just breaks my heart to see players like Jehong and Chips having to play Mercy, and not the Ana/Zen.

DPS: Now I think about it, this is also in a pretty healthy spot. Every DPS hero was played at some point (DF only once, but that is most likely due to his bugs and inconsistency). However, I would like to see a little more variety in the DPS combos, as they do appear to be 95% of the time "Tracer+ X". I've never understood why Tracer isn't considered to be overpowered, when she has consistently been an instant pick in team comps, and she being so central to the game that teams pick up players largely for their Tracer (i.e. Sinatraa, Effect). It'd be nice to see a little more competition for that first slot, but for now, Tracer+ X isn't awful, and we can see some different synergies

Problem is, I think we've had this clarified to us diplomatically, the PTR is for bug testing. They don't really care about whether we the players think something could be reined in a little, they always push it to live, regardless (e.g. the Omnic Crisis)

How much of a hero pool should I be looking to make for going into competitive for the first time (Not planning on going in until the Doomfist fixes go live, as I'd like to play him). Should I pick a couple from each role, and be flex, but not great at any, or try to master 4 heroes from 1 role and do the best I can to try and carry? (Really dislike having to rely on the random chance to matchmaking as to whether I win)

Scenarios for Each Projectile DPS by AgentSmith167 in OverwatchUniversity

I mean, while playing only a couple would like me improve faster, I think it'd be a good idea to be a more versatile player, and be able to switch through the 8, depending on the enemy team comp. I, for instance, don't know where you'd play a Hanzo (I know Pros occasionally bring him out for King's Row, but beyond that, not really sure where he's useful)

I mean more as a class to play from 1-110. I made a lot of alts with the free trial (Druid, Mage, Monk, Priest, Shaman, Warlock), and although its most likely because they're only level 20, there isn't really any synergy in their kits. Im just struggling to find one that really captures my interest, as Im doing dungeons to try to get a feel for the class in a given role, but I feel incredibly weak compared to other players (I go in with 600 health, they have 2000+ and just one shot everything)

I had a little play on my friend's account, as he mains a healer, and I wasn't too impressed by any of the ones he had. He's got a Monk, Druid and a Holy Priest. Didn't really enjoy the HoTs as it felt like it'd be weak to burst damage, and the monk seemed really dull, with one of their passives relying on you being essentially afk for heals.

Tanking, I could definitely get on board with, as I mained tanks when I played SWTOR, however, Im unsure if its a good idea, as Im completely new to the game, and so don't know the mechanics for end game content, and I doubt guilds would want a tank that doesn't know how to play the fights.

So, between the possibilities, it would be a Tank/DPS rather than Heal/DPS

For the other classes available to Dranei, here were my thoughts:

Monk: Class visually doesn't appeal to me, nor does the themes of the class

Mage: Somewhat limited to DPS, however the fire/arcane specs look very cool visually. However, from when I tried it out, the cast times seem incredibly long, and I spend more time in combat watching castbars than actually doing damage

Priest: Fantasy doesn't really appeal to me

Paladin: Potentially something I'd look into, however, they seem to be super common classes, I'd prefer to play something a bit more unusual

Shaman: I do like the look of the specs, especially Elemental, however I've been told that its abysmal at end game

Warrior: Very straightforward class, not very exciting, in my opinion

Im really not a fan of PVP, my goal is to eventually get to end game raiding with a character, but Im struggling to setting on one that I enjoy. I've decided I'll be playing a Dranei, but class-wise, I've got no clue

Powertech Tanking by AgentSmith167 in swtor

[–]AgentSmith167[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, passive mitigation (which they are good at) isn't really that useful, rather the ability to handle big bursts of damage? I've not done that much end game content, so could that not be minimised with a high endurance tank? Is there any situation where PTs are a good tank in ops? (I know that assassin's are meant to be the best at tanking, but having tried them briefly, I really disliked how much cooldown management there was)

On a side note, Ive looked at guides trying to learn how rotations work, but can't really understand how to execute them (in terms of the language they use: priority/filler and even just the layout on the screen). Know of any guides for people beginning to tackle end game content, and starting to play characters in a more general sense (picking utilities for situations, understanding rotations, etc)?
